Canon新攝錄機 HV20

LATEST CANON HD DIGITAL VIDEO TAKES ON A NEW LOOK

KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 – Technology giant Canon is widening its range of High Definition (HD) camcorders with the new HV20 that boasts a new design for users to tap into its powerful features to produce cinema quality footages as well as sharp still pictures.

Styled like a telescope, the equipment has a progressive HD CMOS sensor and Canon’s DIGIC DV II processor to enable high speed processing of progressive HD, a specification for digital HDTV broadcasting.

The DIGIC DV II image processor enhances the processing of details, creates rich color reproduction and wide tonal range, while the HD CMOS (1920 x 1080) sensor features On Chip Noise Reduction as well as the gapless micro lens technology to produce crisp images, even in low light conditions.

The HV20 also offers consumers the option of capturing HD videos in smooth 25 progressive frames (PF) or high resolution interlaced format.

Progressive format redraws all lines in one sweep to prevent ‘flickering’ images while interlaced fields redraw every second line in one sweep. The remaining lines are drawn in a second sweep for higher resolution.

For cinema-like footages, the HV20 introduces the CINE exposure mode that ensures color and tonal ranges are rendered in a way that closely emulates the traditional look and feel of film.

“High quality images, professional results and easy to use functions are key elements that resonate with consumers looking for high definition camcorders,” said Calvyn Laang, Assistant Director and Head of Marketing, Consumer Imaging and Information (CII) division.

“Tapping into our 70 year heritage in optical technology and imaging, we are able to deliver these qualities in a snazzy horizontal design to give users finger tip access to a host of functions and enhance creativity as well as the video experience.”

The Canon HV20 is also equipped with a 10x 43mm diameter HD Video lens complemented by a Super Range Optical Image Stabilizer and Instant Auto Focus (AF) to capture fast moving subjects at long distances while preventing a ‘jittery’ effect.

“To allow users to play back their footage with ease, the HV20 incorporates High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) to interface with any compatible set-top box, a DVD player, PC, video game console as well as digital television (HDTV),” added Laang.

The HDMI is an all-digital audio/video interface capable of transmitting uncompressed streams between compatible digital audio/ video-source.

The HV20 can also simultaneously capture photos and features photographic functions including selectable 9-point AF, selectable metering modes, white balance, Auto Exposure Bracketing and continuous shooting of up to 4frames/second.

To enhance creative options, the HV20 has an Advanced Accessory show to provide more power with external video lights or flash lights, tele converter lenses, wide angle lenses and filter sets.

Inclusive of the CINE mode, the HV20 offers 13 programmed Auto Exposure (AE) modes to capture stunning footages under any lighting conditions.

All footages are recorded with Stereo Sound although consumers can opt for manual audio control and four channel audio playback.

The Canon HV20 camcorder will be available at all Canon authorized dealers by middle of June at a recommended retail price of RM 4,699.00.
