KUALA LUMPUR, 7 August 2007 – mTouche Technology Berhad (“mTouche”) was named the second most visible brand in the TOP TEN VISIBLE BRANDS league at the Brand Equity Magazine Awards 2007 held at the Holiday Villa Hotel last night.
This award is given out annually by Brand Equity Magazine - Malaysia’s premier marketing magazine, to ten of the most elite brands that have secured maximum visibility over the airwaves and across all TV stations for the whole of 2006.
The ‘mTouche’ brand clinched 2nd place, right behind telecommunications brand ‘Maxis’ which was named the most visible brand throughout year 2006.
Some of the other local brands that also made it to this latest TOP TEN VISIBLE BRANDS list include telecommunications brands ‘Digi’ and ‘Celcom’; as well as consumer brands ‘Rejoice’, ‘Pantene’, ‘Olay’ and ‘Power Root’.
The TOP TEN VISIBLE BRANDS poll results are based on Nielsen Media Research (Malaysia)’s TV Rating Study collated from TV advertising expenditure and viewership data. Nielsen Media Research is a dominant source of TV market research data in the country.

“It is extremely important to us that mTouche brand continues to be trusted as synonymous to ‘quality, creative and leading’ broadcast content that the public and our potential customers would keep demanding for.”

MTouche選為世上最佳新興公司
MTOUCHE NAMED AS ONE OF WORLD’S BEST START-UPS
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 August 2007 – Pegged as one of the world’s hottest start-ups, outside of the U.S. of America by Business 2.O, MESDAQ-listed mTouche Technology Berhad (“mTouche”) is one of 31 non-U.S. technology-based companies and the only company thus far from Malaysia picked by the US-based magazine in its annual profile of the best business ideas in the world.
mTouche captured a lot of buzz especially after it launched M-Bit Network, the world’s first peer-to-peer (P2P) search and file super-distribution network – which allows users to download and share large amounts of content, Napster-style, over mobile networks.
Business 2.0 is published by The Time Inc. Business & Finance network, a leading source for world-wide business news and information.
Eugene Goh, CEO of mTouche expressed, “We are honored and delighted at this feat - to be recognized amongst some of the most innovative and dynamic companies from all over the world. It seems that mTouche’s mantra of always being on the look-out for the latest, most ground-breaking technologies to absorb into our business is well appreciated; and we are truly grateful to this.”
mTouche’s launch of M-Bit Network, the world’s first peer-to-peer (P2P) search and file super-distribution network via its subsidiary mBit Pte Ltd earlier in April, has put mTouche under the spot-light for their valiant launch into 4th Generation (4G) mobile market for the extremely sophisticated and matured mobile communities such as in Japan and Korea.
M-Bit Network lauded as the first of its kind in the world because it allows the sharing of content files (a capability known as peer-to-peer or P2P technology), between mobile phones via transmission over wireless mobile networks; whereas right until now P2P technology has been limited to the sharing of content files stored in computers over fixed wired networks.
Other companies amongst the Best Business Ideas in the World include Joost, a UK-based company offering peer-to-peer Internet tube with broadcast TV quality; Bezurk, based in Singapore that provides a travel search engine for Asia which delivers best prices for flights, hotels and cars; and a Slovakian company, Myubo, which allows videos to be uploaded and watched via cell phones.

MTOUCHE推出新互動電視節目
MTOUCHE Launches Latest Interactive TV Offering
KUALA LUMPUR, 18 July 2007 – Following the successful run of Insomnia, an interactive TV programme aired on TV3 late last year and earlier this year, MESDAQ-listed mTouche Technology Berhad (“mTouche”) together with UK-based Cellcast Plc (“Cellcast”) today announces the launch of its latest interactive TV show CelebMania, through their joint venture company Cellcast Interactive Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
CelebMania is the first interactive TV show to be aired on TV3 that uses a three dimensional (3D) virtual set, featuring high tech graphics and puzzles elements on the show. Celeb Mania blends popular entertainment with interactive quizzes that are highly captivating and competitive in nature.
Eugene Goh, CEO of mTouche says that the local TV broadcast landscape is changing with the impact of interactive TV shows.
“Game shows that feature a limited studio audience are conservative and clichés in this age. People are no longer contented with shouting their answers at the TV screen during quiz shows. Technology has enabled this current era where every TV programme audiences everywhere can take part, just as the trend in tech-advanced nations such as in Japan, Korea, and India today.”
“As such, we see quality interactive TV shows that offer insightful content and attractive prizes becoming very popular here in Malaysia”, he adds.
CelebMania is a late-night television show created for terrestrial television. Viewers are able to participate in brain-teasers and quizzes, while being entertained with high-energy comedy sketches, musical acts and celebrity gossips.
CelebMania, which will hosted by local celebrity, Sharifah Shahirah, and popular comedian, Din Beramboi, is the second interactive TV show to broadcast over TV3 using Cellcast’s Interactive Television (“iTV”) format and solutions, leveraging the mTouche™ Intelligent Short Messaging Platform, mTouche™ Interactive TV Platform for Premium Short Messaging Services (“SMS”) and Premium Interactive Voice Recognition (“IVR”) services.
Goh is confident that CelebMania will do equally well, if not better than the hugely successful Insomnia, rated the No. 1 interactive TV show at TV3 which was aired from late 2006 till early this year.
He says “Our ability to produce highly rated TV shows are credited to our having a world class production team with more than 10 years of experience in this field. mTouche is proud to be spearheading the local broadcast industry by having a major part in developing quality, interactive content.”
“mTouche’s excellent working relationship with Media Prima group which owns all four Free-to-Air Channels, namely TV3, NTV7, TV8 and Channel 9 has also made this production of CelebMania possible.”
Interactive TV has reached nationwide audiences in Indonesia and Thailand, and mTouche firmly believes that this is an unstoppable trend in Malaysia. With its high mobile phone penetration, advanced telecommunications infrastructure, vibrant media environment, audience participation - especially from youths of the ‘thumb generation’, interactive TV will certainly revolutionize how TV programmes are being played out in Malaysia.
