World Cyber Games 2007馬來西亞選手名單出爐

World Cyber Games Malaysia Championship 2007 Kuala Lumpur, 10 September 2007 – The World Cyber Games 2007 Malaysia Championship concluded on 9 September 2007 with new champions to represent Malaysia in the Grand Final at Seattle, USA in early October.

“Once again, the Malaysia Championship of the World Cyber Games concludes with wide interest from the cyber gaming community. I’m sure visitors and gamers alike enjoyed the excitement and friendly competition,” said Ms Yvonne Chng, the regional manager for Strategic Partnership - Asia, International Cyber Marketing, Inc. at the closing ceremony.

In his speech at the ceremony, Mr Min Yong Ho, Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer said, “As a sponsor for the Malaysia Championship of the World Cyber Games 2007, I am happy to note that the competition went well.”

As a brand of choice for youth, Samsung has supported the World Cyber Games and the Malaysian edition since 2000. It aims to foster closer interaction among the youth and promote cross-cultural dialogue as well as to fulfill their passion for cyber gaming.

“We want to foster closer friendship among the youth and encourage them to interact more in a healthy cyber arena. We believe that cyber games help to break down cultural barriers and can be a channel for our youth to interact and foster greater friendship and understanding,” added Mr Min.

Samsung and World Cyber Games are a natural fit as its range of LCD products and technology offer lightning-fast response time and greater visual presentation.

Participants of WCG Malaysia Championship were provided with Samsung’s state-of-the-art Syncmaster monitors. This year, there were about 300 units of Samsung’s Syncmaster monitors at the competition, offering exceptional gaming experience to the participants.

Samsung livened up the atmosphere at the arena with a range of stimulating activities for both gamers and casual gamers. These included a display of its latest range of MP3 players, mobile phones and LCD Monitors. Visitors to the Samsung booth played exciting games and took home prizes from Samsung.

During the competition, the participants battled for supremacy in six titles of games; namely FIFA Soccer 2007TM, Need for SpeedTM: Carbon, StarCraft®: Blood WarTM, WarCraft® III: Frozen ThroneTM and Command & Conquer®: Counter Strike 1.6.

The following were the winners in the respective category and they will represent Malaysia at the Grand Final of the World Cyber Games 2007, Seattle, USA:
