Kuala Lumpur 15 April 2008 – LG Electronics, a global manufacturer of electronics goods, today unveiled their latest stylish design and smart technology product line-up for 2008. The line-up which includes the latest offering in digital display such as fashionable LCD TVs and Plasma TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, IT products and AV equipment, were showcased at a special media review held in conjunction with their dealers’ convention.
The One World Hotel Ballroom was transformed into an electronics haven where guests were given the opportunity to experience, see, touch and feel the LG products on display. LG Product Ambassadors were also on hand to provide guests with product information as well as product features. Guests were also treated to live product demos on LG’s LCD TVs and LG’s Plasma TVs.
At the event, Mr T.Y. Ko, Managing Director and CEO of LG Electronics Malaysia said, “2008 is a big year for LG as we have many exciting things planned for this year. Although LG is considered a young company in Malaysia, globally we have over 30 years experience as a multinational company. We are confident that we will have an excellent year with the great product line-up that we have here today, and together we aim to be the leader in the electronics sector for products such as LCD TVs, Plasma TVs, Home Theatre Systems, Refrigerators, Washing Machines and LCD monitors. Our other product segments such as IT and Mobile Phones will also grow tremendously this year. We will also be supporting our products with various marketing activities that will wow Malaysians consumers.”
2008 will also be a year for change for LG. Later in the year LG will be introducing its new brand identity, as they have emerged as one of the leading electronics giants globally. LG has adopted this strategy in order to stay one step ahead of the competition. LG will also be focusing their efforts to ensure that their extensive dealer network gets the necessary assistance from LG not only to promote LG’s products but also to attract customers to our LG authorised dealers. Already LG have launched activities such as “Go-to-market”, “In-store Activation” and “Celebraties” that provide dealers with the essential support needed to serve their customers better. This is in turn further improves dealers in their sell-out sales of LG products.
LG, which started its operations in Malaysia in 2005, has since become a fast major player in the electronics industry. Over the past years, LG has become one of the more popular brands in consumer electronics with its products available in 800 over authorized dealers who are supported by 8 customer care centres nationwide and 150 authorised service contractors. LG also has a dedicated customer call-in centre to ensure our consumers get the “Dream Service” they deserve by our “Dream Service” staff. The organization also has a special roving team who services dealers in the rural areas. As part of its after-sales service, LG will be carrying out campaigns targeted at their consumers to ensure that they are happy and satisfied with their LG purchases. Recently, LG carried out a “free service” campaign for its air conditioners customers.
LG will be supporting its new products with an aggressive advertising and promotions campaign as part of its strategies to build the LG brand in Malaysia into a trusted and respected brand.
This is the fourth time LG has held a nationwide dealers convention with over 500 dealers in attendance. The theme for this year’s dealers convention is “Leading Together With Style”. Part of the activities for LG’s Dealers Convention included an award presentation to dealers in recognition of their support for LG’s products, a special performance by Landy Wen, world renowned Taiwanese singer and an exclusive product tour of LG’s latest merchandise.
