Juniper Networks First to Achieve TL 9000 Certification for Network Security Devices

Company Demonstrates Ongoing Commitment to Operational Excellence and Quality Assurance for High-Performance Business
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, June 12, 2008 – Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, announced that it is the first company to achieve the prestigious TL 9000 certification for Network Security Devices, category 6.6, by the Quality of Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum.

Through this certification, high-performance enterprises and service providers can be assured that Juniper achieves a consistent set of quality expectations that parallel rapid technology changes and customer expectations.

"Juniper's commitment to the TL 9000 certification for both its routing and now security solutions further demonstrates that the company demonstrates superior business and operational excellence in the spirit of delivering the highest quality customer service," said Herman Reis, Lead Auditor, TÜV SÜD America, a globally recognized testing, inspection and certification organization offering the highest quality services for a wide range of industries worldwide.

The TL 9000 Quality Management System (QMS) was created by QuEST Forum to meet the quality requirements of the worldwide telecommunications industry.

It defines quality system requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation and maintenance of telecom products and services, and provides a measurement system that, when implemented, allow companies to track performance and improve results.
Because of its telecommunications focus, TL 9000 eliminates the need for multiple telecom quality management standards, can reduce the costs of doing business, and ultimately helps result in better products and services to consumers. It also provides a consistent set of quality expectations to drive efficiency and performance across the global telecommunications supply chain.

"Juniper continues to set the benchmark for customer quality with the TL 9000 certification of our Integrated Security Gateway and Secure Services Gateway product families to the new Network Security Devices category," said Wan Ahmad Kamal, Malaysia country manager for Juniper Networks.

"Juniper was the first IP routing vendor to achieve certification in the TL 9000 R3.0, 1.2.9 router category, and was recently recertified to R4.0. We are sending a clear message to our customers that we remain focused on ensuring the highest quality and execution of Juniper's high-performance network infrastructure products and services for both our enterprise and service provider customers."
