Ricoh’s New Range of GelSprinters Packs a Punch

Latest All-in-One desktop printers offer businesses colour printing at low total cost of ownership

Malaysia, 7 August 2008 – Ricoh, a global leader in digital office solutions, today unveiled its GelSprinter Desktop Multifunctional Printer series that delivers powerful desktop performance to small offices and workgroups. The new all-in-one GX3000S, GX3000SF and GX3050SFN desktop multifunctional printers (MFP) combine vibrant colour printing, scanning and copying with faxing capabilities in one stylish, flexible design ideal for businesses that are looking to minimize total cost of ownership of a MFP.

Featuring Ricoh’s cutting-edge GelSprinter technology, the GelSprinter GX3000S, GX3000SF and GX3050SFN series uses quick-dry, viscous ink droplets that minimize spreading and eliminate bleed-through to produce crisp, non-smudge images. The pigment-based ink which is waterproof and sun-resistant, enables print-outs to be highlighted without smearing, thus creating a huge advantage for printing marketing materials, student handouts and architectural plans. With short start up to first print response time, the GelSprinter models print faster than most inkjets at 29 ppm (pages per minute) for both colour and black-and-white documents with superior colour quality similar to colour laser prints. Standard Auto-duplex printing feature in all models also promote efficiency and lower energy consumption.

Boasting print resolution of up to an equivalent of 3600 x 1200 dpi, the new GelSprinter models produce bold and stunning colour graphics on a variety of media ranging from thick paper and glossy paper to transparencies. The printers’ full-colour scanning function at 1200 dpi enables users to digitize hardcopy and deliver documents electronically instantaneously via its easy-to-use Scan-to-Email and Scan-to-FTP options. Furthermore, fax documents are rapidly transmitted through the built-in Super G3 modem for both GX3000SF and GX3050SFN.

The printers’ viscous ink cartridges offer higher yields compared to dye-based ink cartridges. Colour printing costs are further reduced with the printers’ Level Colour Mode feature, which reduces ink density of up to 50% for graphics and images without affecting the readability of text, hence allowing cost-per-page for colour prints at less or equal to that of black-and-white documents. The result is a lower total cost of ownership.

Designed for convenience and reliability, the GelSprinter GX3000S, GX3000SF and GX3050SFN are packed with user-friendly features such as hassle-free front loading ink cartridges and easy-to-use operational panel. With a maximum paper capacity of 850 sheets, these printers ensure continuous workflow and productivity. Troubleshooting is also made easy with advance @Remote utility. When supplies are running low, administrators will be notified via email, thus reducing downtime. With embedded masking pattern attribute, confidential documents are kept away from unauthorized copying and scanning.
