SAMSUNG REINFORCES MOBILE LEADERSHIP WITH ULTIMATE MOBILE ENTERTAINER

HO CHI MINH CITY, 26 August 2008 – Samsung Electronics today reinforced its mobile leadership with the launch of the Samsung innov8, the first Symbian OS eight megapixel camera phone in the world. The Samsung innov8 blends cutting edge imaging and multimedia features to deliver the best possible mobile entertainment.

Encased in a sleek metallic design, the Samsung innov8 features the latest imaging applications such as Smile Shot, Blink Shot and face recognition functions, allowing users to capture memorable moments in the best quality available. Users can also personalize and edit images, videos and even music on the go, with the Movie Maker and Story Board applications onboard the Samsung innov8.


The imaging prowess of Samsung innov8 has earned it a place in the history books to clinch the “biggest photo taken by a mobile phone” from the Guinness Vietnam Record Book. Renowned Vietnamese photographer Hoang Trung Thuy used the Samsung innov8 to take the picture.Beyond imaging, the Samsung innov8 is also packed with powerful multimedia features. Supporting multiple video formats including DivX, WMV, Real Player and MPEG4, the Samsung innov8 enables users to load and watch videos easily and enjoyably on their mobile phone. The 16GB Samsung innov8 is expected to be commercially available in the region from next month. Pricing will be announced at a later date.

Samsung launched the world’s first five megapixel camera phone in 2004, first seven megapixel camera phone in 2005 and the groundbreaking 10 megapixel SCH-B600 in the Korean market in 2006. Its SGH-G810 was recently awarded the ‘European Photo Phone 2008-2009’ by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).
