Stamford Bridge experience for college student and Chelsea fans

13 NOVEMBER 2008 For 18-year-old football fan Justin Mah, it is a dream come true for perhaps a once in a lifetime experience at Stamford Bridge – the famous home ground of two-time British Premier League champions Chelsea.

The college student won the recently concluded Samsung “Skill Your Way to Stamford Bridge” audition which earned him a trip to the UK and a brief training stint at Chelsea. The audition for football skills and tricks was conducted by well-known football pundit and former national footballer, Serbegeth (Shebby) Singh.

Justin was obviously on cloud nine when he was named the winner for the Chelsea stint. He was naturally lost for words and said: “I can’t believe I am going to Chelsea and perhaps rubbing shoulders with some of the big stars like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba.”

He will join a group of 15, including several Chelsea fans for the Chelsea stint and will leave for London on Nov 19.

Samsung is the Official Club Sponsor of Chelsea and according to Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd Corporate Marketing Director Bryan Lee, the “Skill Your Way to Stamford Bridge” audition was another initiative following the highly successful Samsung Chelsea Asia tour, which included a match in Malaysia last July.

“This time around, we are offering a group of Chelsea and football fans a rare treat to visit Stamford Bridge and a training stint at the home ground of the two-time Premier League champions,” he added.

Samsung, Bryan said, is committed to the development and promotion of sports worldwide, and has been connecting people by supporting major sports events, including the Olympics and Asian Games.
