TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE AT CANON MALAYSIA PHOTOMARATHON 2011

Come 15th October 2011, the place to be for all photographers would be at the Bukit Bintang entrance in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur for the Canon PhotoMarathon Malaysia 2011! For the 9th consecutive year, the region’s largest photo competition Canon PhotoMarathon 2011 will kick off this September in seven countries, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The grand prize winner will walk away with an all expense-paid photo trip to Tasmania, Australia plus RM10,000 cash!

Pit your creativity, skill and endurance level against other participants to create the ultimate photographic masterpiece in this full-day event where you would be given specific themes to interpret within a specified time limit. There will be 3 themes for the day which will be kept tight under lock and key till the very day of the event, only revealed at the specified time of the day which adds to the challenge of getting the perfect photo!

Coming together as judges for the competition this year are none other than Zainal Abdul Halim who is one of Reuter's photojournalist, Peter Tan who was awarded and certified as a Master Photographer by the prestigious Master Photographers Association (UK), Din Arshad with his 30 years of experience in the photography industry, Harry Woo, recognized locally and internationally with a list of awards under his belt, Ng Kok Leong who is currently the Photo Editor of The Star Publications, Raj Kumar, Photo Editor of the Sun Media Publication Group and Syed Agil Syed Jaafar, Chief Photographer of the Utusan Group. All the esteemed judges are photographers themselves with years of professional experience in the photography industry.

Furthermore, Canon Marketing (Malaysia) is partnering with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation this year with all proceeds from the registration fees going towards supporting their research and awareness programs. As such, for registration done online at http://www.canon-asia.com/photomarathon/my/register.jsp will be charged RM20 per participant and RM25 for walk-in participants.
