KiddyTrack’s Innovative GPS/GSM Child Locator Solution is Powered by Maxis’ Managed Machine-to-Machine (“M2M”) Technology

Kuala Lumpur, 27 October 2011
Maxis Berhad (“Maxis”), Malaysia’s leading integrated communications service provider, today announced its official partnership with KiddyTrack Sdn Bhd (“KiddyTrack”) and the launch of KiddyTrack’s first-of-its kind child locator solution. This innovative GPS/ GSM child locator solution is powered by Maxis’ Managed Machine-to-Machine (“M2M”) technology and leverages on Maxis’ strength as the widest 3G service provider In Malaysia. This launch marks another success story for Maxis and reinforces our promise to work through key solution vendors and with our business customers to develop industry vertical applications and to help accelerate local business efficiencies through effective use of M2M technology.

KiddyTrack was created to meet the needs of working parents who want to watch over their children but are unable to do so due to busy schedules. KiddyTrack users will be able to leverage on Maxis’ 3G network service, the widest in Malaysia, to locate their children or loved ones by sending a simple SMS. Within seconds of receiving the SMS, the system will provide users with a URL link of the Google map that shows the location, as accurately as up to five metres, of the child being tracked. When the GPS signal is unavailable, the cell-based information by Maxis’ Managed M2M platform can provide the location of your child to an accuracy of a 50 metre radius. In addition, family members can conveniently monitor their children and loved ones via their mobile devices or computers by logging into the KiddyTrack web portal.

In case of an emergency, the device can also alert up to five pre-installed numbers with just a press of the SOS button. The power of the solution lies in its ability to locate your loved ones at any given time, from anywhere. The device and accompanying technology can not only be used to locate and track children but also to monitor the locations of the elderly, employees, pets, vehicles and certain valuables. Additionally, as part of launch promotions, Maxis customers stand to walk away with a FREE iPad 2 for every third KiddyTrack subscriber, while stocks last (terms and conditions apply).
