Launch of Huawei eSpace VTM Aims to Redefine Malaysia’s Consumer Banking Experience

Kuala Lumpur, 29th November 2011.
Huawei, a leader in next-generation information and communications technologies and solutions, today launched Asia Pacific’s first-ever fully-integrated Virtual Teller Machine (VTM). Huawei eSpace VTM is the latest innovation by Huawei Enterprise Business Group which looks set to revolutionise the overall consumer banking experience in Malaysia.

The existing set-up of most bank branches consists of three different zones, which are customer service, sales, and the 24/7 electronic lobby. The current model represents a division in the banking experience, requiring consumers to attend to each zone in order to meet all their banking needs. The introduction of a fully-integrated VTM aspires to transform the current branch design, as a bank’s full suite of financial services can now be accessed through a single integrated access point; thus increasing customer convenience while banking.

“The application of VTM in the financial services industry will be complementary to their existing service channels, as banks can now go beyond the limit of business hours to provide their entire suite of rich and personalised services to customers,” said Jeff Hwong, Regional Sales Director, Southern Pacific, Huawei Enterprise Business. “The increase in efficiency will enable banks to maximise and focus their time and resources on other areas in their product and service offering.”

A complementary banking solution with focus on quality and efficiency

Huawei eSpace VTM is the latest technology in remote banking solution which provides a perfect convergence of modern telecommunication technologies and financial services. This technology is an all-encompassing solution which integrates multiple service channels within banks, such as telephone banking, Internet banking, bank offices, and Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), into a new service model.

Huawei eSpace VTM is able to support a whole suite of traditional banking functions, which includes account opening and management, card application and issuance, withdrawal, bank transfer and remittance, self-service payment, financing, foreign exchange trading, as well as investment and wealth management services. The comprehensive banking functions available through Huawei eSpace VTM, which is customisable to meet the service requirements of the client, aim to ease the transaction volume of staffed counters, and enhance the efficiency and service quality of banks.

"The Huawei VTM Remote Banking Solution will bring to life dynamic changes to the banking service experience to all Malaysian customers. We are confident in the adoption of this service mode, which will enhance the overall development of the financial industry in the near future,” he added. “The financial industry is one of the most vigorous and promising industries in today’s global market and has accordingly set the highest of standards and requirements in telecommunications and information technologies.”
