RESIDENTS OF 9 BUKIT UTAMA CONDOMINIUM IN BANDAR UTAMA TO ENJOY SEAMLESS COMMUNICATIONS EXPERIENCE WITH MAXIS HOME SERVICES

The luxury property will be equipped with Maxis’ fibre internet service, offering residents high speed broadband connectivity

Kuala Lumpur, 17 November 2011

Maxis Berhad (Maxis), Malaysia’s leading integrated communications service provider, continued to strengthen its service offerings on the home front following a strategic alliance agreement signed between Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd and BU One Management Co. Sdn Bhd (BU One), a subsidiary of Bandar Utama Development Sdn Bhd (Bandar Utama Development). Under the terms of the agreement, Maxis will provide Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) solutions for the residents of 9 Bukit Utama Condominium in Bandar Utama, Selangor, a luxury property managed by BU One. This alliance is yet another move by Maxis to expand its fibre penetration in the Bandar Utama areas.

Through this partnership, Maxis is able to provide full end-to-end fibre connection to each individual unit in all three blocks of the condominium. Residents who sign up for any of Maxis’ fibre internet packages will be able to enjoy seamless experience with this “future proof” service, which is ready to provide enriched contents through services such as internet protocol television (IPTV), without any network capability limitations.

Commenting on the signing of this agreement, Harold Quek, Maxis’ Senior Vice President of Home Services, mentioned, “Maxis is excited to be BU One’s preferred service provider of fibre internet service to their 9 Bukit Utama Condominium. By providing Maxis Home fibre internet to the residents of this premium property, they will be able to enjoy an enhanced communications experience that encompasses Maxis’ full suite of exciting and interactive services which include voice, high-speed internet, value added services and content, which can be experienced through multiple screens.”

“The signing of this agreement comes on the heels of the recent launch of Maxis’ ‘Home’ campaign, which is aimed to create public awareness that Maxis Home is now available for their homes, enabling an enriched digital lifestyle. As an integrated communications service provider with the largest wired and wireless footprint in the country, customers can choose from a few types of Home service that we offer i.e. Home Fibre Internet, Home Wireless Internet or Home Wired Internet. We offer packages from as low as RM59 per month on our Home Wireless Internet service. For Home Fibre Internet, we have 4Mbps, 6Mbps and 10Mbps packages at RM128, RM158 and RM218 per month, respectively. Additionally, we have a premium fibre internet package for high usage customers, at 30Mbps speeds which comes with a quota of 300 GB, for only RM398 a month,” Harold added.

Dato' Teo Chiang Hong, Director of Bandar Utama Development commented, “The main aim of teaming up with Maxis is to provide reliable and superior high-speed broadband services to 9 Bukit Utama Condominium and future projects, via its Home services. The partnership will ensure that properties under Bandar Utama Development are equipped with Home Fibre Internet service, which enables access to exciting content and value-added services to meet the needs of today’s modern lifestyle, giving our properties the edge to prospective buyers. With Maxis Home services readily available at 9 Bukit Utama Condominium today, residents can just sign up for the service when they move in.”

He also added that Bandar Utama Development wanted to ensure that Maxis Home is available for Block Beta and Block Ceta of the 9 Bukit Utama Condominium, before the 2 blocks are launched. Block Ceta has already been launched in October 2011 and Block Beta is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2012. He believes that the partnership brings a win win result for Bandar Utama Development, Maxis and the residents of 9 Bukit Utama Condominium alike.

Maxis launched its Home services in March 2011, making it Malaysia’s first multiple-play service provider offering rich content over multiple screens. Currently, under its Home Internet offering, Maxis offers four fibre internet plans powered by Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology, priced from as low as RM128 per month as mentioned above. These plans are packaged to present customers with greater value by offering unlimited calls to Maxis fixed line, an allocated amount of minutes to Maxis mobile numbers and select IDD destinations, as well as value added services which include unlimited music downloads, internet security, parental control and unified inbox. Customers also have the option to sign up for a Wireless Internet add-on with an upgraded modem. On top of that, Maxis mobile customers get to enjoy additional minutes on their mobile service. Maxis will also be offering TV services with enriched content in the near future.

Maxis’ fibre internet services are now available in the Klang Valley and in selected areas in Penang and Johor Bahru. For more information on Maxis Home, customers can visit maxis.com.my/home. Alternatively, they can also contact 1 800 82 1123 for further enquiries.
