Bank Simpanan Nasional Selects HP to Improve Business Agility

KUALA LUMPUR, May 18, 2012- HP today announced that Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has selected HP Software to improve customer service. HP is helping Malaysia’s leading savings bank speed delivery of IT services by 30 percent to increase responsiveness to customer requests.

Robust domestic demand has increased competition among Malaysian retail banks. BSN needed to improve its ability to respond quickly to changing customer needs to stay ahead of competitors.

To ensure fast reliable services across its extensive network of 390 branches, BSN needed a comprehensive view of its IT infrastructure. Its existing IT system lacked the performance and flexibility needed to effectively monitor and manage its entire IT operations.

To address this, BSN deployed HP’s Project Portfolio Management (PPM). This management software provides a consolidated view of the bank’s entire IT operations. This enables quick identification of system bottlenecks, allowing IT managers to react promptly to speed resolution.

HP PPM also automates core business operations. This automation of tasks frees up time and resources for BSN’s IT managers to respond quickly to the needs of the business.

“With our previous system, it was difficult to gain the information needed to make swift decisions in response to changing customer demands,” said Alain Boey, SVP and Head of Transformation Management Office, Bank Simpanan Nasional. “HP’s PPM solution provided us with a clear view of our entire IT operations, giving us the information needed to make decisions quickly in a dynamic business environment.”

HP PPM is a key component of the HP IT Performance Suite, a software platform that provides IT management with operational intelligence. The HP IT Performance Suite provides insights into IT assets, automates IT management and adjusts IT performance to meet specific business goals.
