KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 3 July 2012- Barracuda Networks Inc., a leading provider of security, networking and data protection solutions, today affirmed its continued expansion and growth in Malaysia in a press briefing to the business and IT media. Under the leadership of Rick Tam, Regional Director of Asia, Barracuda Networks aims to deliver a comprehensive framework of integrated solutions to the Malaysian market which has been identified as the company’s key Asia Pacific market.

Founded in California, USA in 2003, Barracuda Networks established its operations in Malaysia in 2004, addressing business IT needs around content security, networking and application delivery, as well as data storage, protection and recovery. The firm’s product portfolio includes purpose-built solutions that can provide organizations of all sizes with end-to-end protection that can be deployed in hardware, virtual, cloud and mixed form factors.(From L to R)Mr. Rick Tam, Regional Director, ASIA and Mr. Thiban Darmalingam, Regional Manager, Malaysia.

A channel-focused company, Barracuda Networks has recruited a strong network of local channel partners over the past eight years including Kabaz Sdn Bhd, Mesiniaga and Packet Systems Malaysia. The channels and the local sales team cover verticals including education, telecommunications, FSI, government and manufacturing sectors delivering best-in-class solutions, training and support.

“Many enterprises are not prepared for many of the network security challenges today. Cybercriminals are launching sophisticated attacks and stealing data. With more enterprises adopting bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policies for remote work arrangement, mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets have become gateways for phishing and spams,” said Rick Tam, Barracuda Networks Regional Director of Asia. “We take pride in that we are a global technology leader with a local presence. We are well positioned to help local businesses secure their users, applications and data in today’s dynamic IT environment. With our team of certified support engineers and channels, we are ready to expand our reach and provide the ROIs CIOs are looking.”

This year, Barracuda Web Filter and Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall topped the IT Products and Services for Education and Email Security Management categories respectively at the 7th Annual 2012 Hot Companies and Best Products Awards organized by Network Products Guide, the industry’s leading technology research and advisory publication. Barracuda Networks also won SC Magazine 2012 Reader Trust Award for Best Enterprise Firewall and is a finalist for three categories in the Storage Awards for Email Archiving & Compliance Product of the Year, DR & Backup Product of the Year and Storage Magazine Solution of the Year.
