SAMSUNG ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF ITS ‘SAMSUNG GLOBAL BLOGGER’ COMPETITION

Two lucky Malaysians selected to visit London to report on the 2012 Olympic Games

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 4 July, 2012 – Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, a global leader in consumer electronics, and the Worldwide Olympic Partner for Wireless Communications Equipment, announced today the winners of its global search for Samsung Global Bloggers. The 75 lucky winners from 20 countries around the world will be given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the UK and to share their London 2012 experience with an international audience.

Following a worldwide online talent search with media partner MSN, the Samsung Global Bloggers (or SGBs as they are known) will be given an exciting schedule during their time at the Games to experience the vast array of London’s treasures including its culture, fashion, art and entertainment as well as the jewel in its crown – the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Samsung Global Bloggers will have the inside track on all the big events to ensure they have the richest and most exciting experiences and content to share with their social networks. The global bloggers will attend the live site of the Opening Ceremony celebrations as well as a number of Olympic sporting events, and will be given exclusive time with an athlete from their national team. With an activity programme spanning the length of the Games, SGBs will be able to experience and capture the most iconic and defining parts of London.

Over 3,000 people from around the world applied to take part in the SGB programme. Hailing from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, applicants were chosen based on their potential to deliver a unique view of London during the Olympics Games. Armed with superior video production skills, creativity and ingenuity, prominent lifestyle bloggers from Malaysia, Chen Tian Chad and Sandra Tan have been chosen to join Samsung Global Bloggers.

The pair will be amongst many to be granted a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness the world’s most anticipated sporting event. Blessed with a flair for capturing moments and documenting events, the two bloggers will be able to share their experience with the world through individual unique perspectives.
