Axis Communications Opens Three New Offices in Southeast Asia

Axis Communications, the world market leader in network video, today announced the opening of its new offices in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. The new locations will accommodate recent staff growth and strengthen the company’s presence across all three countries to accommodate the burgeoning interest in network video solutions and development potential of the markets. The new offices in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Jakarta provide Axis with a footprint of 12 offices across South Asia Pacific to date.

According to Nafis Jasmani, Country Manager, Axis Communications, Malaysia, the move to open several offices in Asia is driven by the company’s commitment to better serve its clients and partners. “The Malaysian, Thai and Indonesian markets are driven by increasing security awareness and demand among the public and private sectors, especially with the ongoing technology shift from analog to digital video surveillance. This is due to the many advantages digital video surveillance has over their anolog predecessor, such as superior image quality, easy installation and integration, improved security, scalable and flexible solutions and contributions towards a lower total cost of ownership. It’s our responsibility to provide our partners with all the local resources that they need to meet this demand and drive the technology shift.”

Nafis added, “The opening of our new ASEAN locations comes at a time where we are witnessing an increase in digital surveillance with significant growth in Asia and Axis is well positioned to ride this wave with its IP-based network video solutions offerings. As network connectivity becomes accustomed, one can no longer ignore the clear benefits of digital surveillance, especially in sector like transportation, retail and infrastructure, where security is a major concern.” In addition, IMS Research also reported that by 2016, network camera sales are forecast to account for approximately 60 percent of total worldwide surveillance camera sales, compared to approximately 40 percent in 2011.

Axis Communications has come a long way in its 27 years of history and to date holds the number one position as the market leader in the category of network cameras. Besides that, IMS also published a new report during the period in which Axis was again ranked as the clear market leader in the network cameras category and now also in the surveillance cameras category. “The IMS Research report confirms our own estimates of gained market shares last year, where we presented a growth of 33 percent,” says Nafis. “We further strengthened our position by continuing our strategy, which is based on the three cornerstones; launch of innovative network video products, a well-developed partner network and global expansion.”

The first to launch network cameras, the Swedish-based company has more than 1,000 dedicated employees in 40 locations around the world and cooperates with partners covering 172 countries. The company develops innovative products and offers the market’s broadest network cameras portfolio. Axis’ varied products ranges from network camera, video management software and to a full range of audio and video accessories.
