KUALA LUMPUR, 27 September 2012 – Canon Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd  today launched the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 Series, the second generation of the document service platform series that provides companies seamless document handling, image capturing and output capabilities with faster scan speed and improved operation efficiency. The four new models imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5255/C5250/C5240/C5235 offer print speed of up to 55ppm in black-and-white and 51ppm in colour and scan speeds of up to 120ppm in both colour and black and white

Advanced Usability, Design and Convenience for Enhanced Workflow
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 series has been designed for maximum speed, efficiency and productivity in mind.

Functions and controls on the imageRUNNER ADVANCE series are conveniently and easily accessible through the 8.4-inch full colour TFT Control Panel. JPEG, TIFF and PDF files can be conveniently previewed from the newly-improved control panel that contains function keys which have been repositioned for better usability. A USB port allows quick and easy access to documents on thumb drives, which are automatically recognised when the device is restored from sleep mode.

Another feature of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series which helps to deliver superior and seamless workflow productivity and efficiency is its productive and efficient Scan-to-Word capability. It provides a new level of document handling and collaboration with its support of OOXML format for Word, in addition to PowerPoint. This provides greater versatility in the file formats that can be created from the device to support the various needs of the office workflow.

The C5255 achieves print speed of 55 ppm for monochrome documents and 51 ppm for colour, while the C5250 delivers output speed of 50 ppm for monochrome and 45 ppm for colour. The C5240 is capable of printing documents at speed of 40 ppm for monochrome and 35 ppm for colour while the C5235 achieves output speeds of 35 ppm for monochrome and 30 ppm for colour.

Furthermore, the C5255 and C5250 provides first-print speed of 3.9 seconds in monochrome and 6.0 seconds in colour, while the C5240 and C5235 offer first-print speed of 5.4 seconds in monochrome and 8.1 seconds in colour.

Secured Print Performance and Control
In response to the increasing importance of data security in recent years, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 series is iEEE2600.1 compliant and equipped with a range of security and control features to prevent unintended information access as well as provide usage information for better control.

The HDD Data Erase function enables users to completely delete all data from the internal hard drive. Data security and privacy concerns are reduced with the ability to overwrite the image data up to nine times to ensure confidential information can never be retrieved. The IPSec feature protects sending and receiving of data over an IP network from threats such as theft, modification, and impersonation, using security policies created for encrypted communication.

With the Audit Log function, administrators can easily analyse usage patterns to determine the efficiency of the multi-function devices through the collection of logs stored in the Remote User Interface. This function collects different types of logs that will help companies track user authentication and information, copy/fax/scan/send/print job status, machine management operations and many more.

An optional feature is available for companies with a need for strong security control over confidential information and documents. With the AES256 encryption level, scanning of documents into PDF can be encrypted, which is a standard practice commonly enforced across government and legal entities.

Greater Print Productivity with a Smaller Environmental Footprint
Energy conservation has never been easier for companies with the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 series. The Energy Saver hard key on the printer can be programmed with two different energy saving modes to minimize energy consumption during periods of standby.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 series is also equipped with a Remote Shutdown function, enabling all devices equipped with the function and connected to the same network to shut down at the same time. This enable administrator to shut down all systems simultaneously, reducing power usage when the device is not in use. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 series has also been designed to reduce power consumption to 1.5W in Deep Sleep mode.
