FortiGate Multi-Threat Network Security Appliances Uniquely Meet Stringent Performance, Functionality and Reliability Requirements

MALAYSIA – 10 January 2012 ― Fortinet - a leading network security provider and the worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that Siemens Enterprise Communications, a premier global provider of end-to-end enterprise communications, has deployed multiple FortiGate-1240B network security appliances to help secure its OpenScape Cloud Services. Fortinet’s devices are uniquely meeting the provider’s stringent requirements in terms of performance, functionality and reliability.

As a provider of voice and communications solutions, Siemens Enterprise Communications offers easy-to-implement, reliable and secure Unified Communications (UC) solutions to customers of all sizes around the world. When Siemens Enterprise Communications launched its OpenScape Cloud Services to extend its voice and UC services to customers using a public cloud, the company looked at setting up secure and reliable IT and communications infrastructures as well as high-availability data centers in Germany and in the US.

The requirements for Siemens Enterprise Communications’ OpenScape Cloud Services were high in terms of security and reliability, as well as performance and scalability. In parallel, the security solution needed to provide rich functionality to support voice-over-IP (VoIP), UC and application data.

Thanks to a long track record in successfully securing the data environment of Siemens Enterprise Communications’ enterprise customers, Fortinet’s FortiGate network appliances were part of the market solutions subject to the provider’s nine-month evaluation and were ultimately selected to secure its communications cloud services.

In Germany and in the US, Siemens Enterprise Communications deployed multiple clusters of FortiGate-1240B network security appliances for high availability, ensuring the reliable protection and controlled accessibility of its data centers. The FortiGate clusters act as central firewalls for the OpenScape Cloud Services and primarily provide firewall, VPN, IPS, and SIP VoIP security.

The FortiGate appliances’ high performance allows Siemens Enterprise Communications to meet all operations requirements, including high loads during peak periods and possible disruptions, without noticeable constraints. With a very low latency, Fortinet’s appliances are ideal for the provider’s new voice services, since no delay is incurred during voice traffic.

SIEMENS PLM SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES SOLID EDGE WITH SYNCHRONOUS TECHNOLOGY 2

New Features and Tools Address Part and Assembly Modeling, Sheet Metal, CAE and PDM

Kuala Lumpur, May 27, 2009 – Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announces Solid Edge® software with Synchronous Technology 2.
This release is the second version of Solid Edge to incorporate Siemens PLM Software’s breakthrough synchronous technology, the first history-free, feature-based modeling capability that serves as a fundamental tool in helping customers react to the market faster.
“We were looking for something very flexible…but also something with the full power of 3D feature modeling for modifying machine components,” said Ben Fune, process engineering manager, American Renolit Corp. “We found the best of both worlds in Solid Edge with synchronous technology.”

Solid Edge is a core component of the Velocity Series™ portfolio and combines the speed and flexibility of direct modeling with the precise control of dimension-driven design. The latest release extends synchronous technology deeper in the product with improved part and assembly modeling as well as a new sheet metal application. With this release, Siemens PLM Software also announces a new built-in FEA tool and PDM integration leveraging the latest Microsoft SharePoint platforms.

Synchronized Part and Assembly Modeling
The new release of Solid Edge extends synchronous technology within core part and assembly modeling for complex feature creation and advanced sketch editing tools that reduce overall design time. To improve 2D to 3D data migration, Solid Edge turns 2D dimensions from imported drawings into 3D driving dimensions during model creation, so users can edit 3D designs based on the intent from 2D. In addition, Live Sections can be used to simplify 3D model changes by letting users edit 2D cross sections cut through any part of a 3D model, and update the 3D model in real-time.

New Sheet Metal Design Application
Solid Edge now applies synchronous technology to sheet metal design, creating a feature-based, history-free 3D design application for modeling straight brake sheet metal parts.

Sheet metal is the second application to leverage the power of synchronous technology (CAM Express leveraging synchronous technology was first announced last December) and further validates its extensibility. Synchronous technology brings new levels of productivity to the sheet metal environment so users can create models with less pre-planning, make changes with unbounded flexibility, and reuse and edit supplier data more effectively.

“A process-specific application such as sheet metal is a good example of a design discipline that requires a specialized skill set and unique features in the software,” said Dan Staples, director of Solid Edge product development, Siemens PLM Software. “Now our sheet metal customers can achieve the tremendous design time savings made possible by synchronous technology. And now that synchronous technology has been incorporated into sheet metal, you can see just how extensible this technology really is."

New Solid Edge Simulation for FEA
Solid Edge Simulation is a new optional analysis tool embedded into the CAD system that allows design validation of parts and assemblies earlier in the product development process for quicker time to market and reduced physical prototyping costs. It is based on proven Femap® software finite element modeling and NX™ Nastran® solver technology built into the Solid Edge user interface. It is easy for designers and engineers to use and promotes increased use of simulation within Solid Edge, fostering design innovation. Solid Edge Simulation also leverages synchronous technology to ease simulation model preparation and speed design refinements.

Solid Edge now provides key enhancements to improve the embedded Insight™ design data management application, a key element of the Velocity Series strategy for scalable PDM, which also includes the Teamcenter® Express platform.

Conference Features NX 6 Launch with Synchronous Technology

ATI PowerXpress Now Delivering Increased Graphics Performance and Energy Efficiency to Notebook Consumers

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA. — June 5 2008 — AMD (NYSE:AMD) today announced that ATI PowerXpress™ users can double or triple the performance of the integrated graphics processor1 when plugged into a wall socket or extend their battery life by over an hour while on the go2.

Previously announced earlier this year as a variant of ATI Hybrid Graphics Technology for notebook computers, ATI PowerXpress allows notebook users to manually or automatically switch between an ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3400 series discrete graphics processor and an integrated AMD M780G with ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 graphics without rebooting their notebook. NOKIA SIEMENS NETWORKS CELEBRATES ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Kuala Lumpur – May 15, 2008 – Marking its one-year anniversary recently, Nokia Siemens Networks today outlined its successes in Malaysia over the last 12 months and its future plans to drive innovation and growth in the local telecommunications industry.

“The Malaysian market has grown steadily for Nokia Siemens Networks and we expect that growth to continue this year,” says Bill Chang, Country Director, Malaysia, Nokia Siemens Networks. “We started hosting the Master of Maya game for Maxis Communications Berhad last year and it drew a record 20,000 users to the game in its first phase of launch.

Our DVB-H project with UMobile is coming along well, and we have signed an MOU with a reputable local GLC company, PERNEC to exchange the knowledge and skills and work together on Next Generation Networks (NGN) projects in Malaysia”.

In Malaysia, Nokia Siemens Networks has also been much focused on the national broadband project, and sharing of its global WiMAX experiences with MCMC. “MyICMS 886 Goals are to increase the total broadband penetration to 75 percent of all households in Malaysia by 2010; this is a great opportunity for all stakeholders, and we are honored to share our global broadband expertise and experience with the government,” says Chang.

Nokia Siemens Networks today announced the three lucky winners of the Master of Maya Treasure Hunt that began in June 2007 and ended in September 2007. More than 3900 people participated in the Treasure Hunt through roadshows and the website (www.masterofmaya.com) by answering three questions related to the game.

Wan Mazura Bt. Wan Marzuki from UITM Shah Alam, who took home the 1st prize, a NEC laptop, said, "Master of Maya is one of a kind because it further enhances the mobile games available in the market. The Treasure Hunt was a mind-boggling and jam-packed adventure! I am overwhelmed with the prize and very thankful to Nokia Siemens Networks.”

Master of Maya is the world's first trading card game for mobile phones, developed by Nokia Siemens Networks and offered exclusively by Maxis Communications Bhd. in Malaysia. In the game, players assume the roles of Mayan warlords and compete with other warlords in battles where they must skillfully deploy their forces to achieve strategic advantage. Players can challenge friends or other players, anytime and anywhere and Maxis offers play with no air time charges!

The game is kept fresh through booster packs that players can buy to introduce new trading cards into their deck. Decks can be managed through either a player's mobile phone or through the Master of Maya website. Both mobile phone and website are kept synchronized automatically. Players with surplus cards can trade them with other players for cards they do not have. Every player is then able to build a custom deck that capitalizes upon the strengths of their individual playing styles.

Kuala Lumpur, 14th August, 2007 – Siemens Malaysia and Intel Malaysia today announced a collaboration to develop BloodBank Manager, a valuable innovation involving blood bank management within the healthcare sector in Malaysia. BloodBank Manager is a Made-In-Malaysia product which offers the use of management-enhancing Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID) technology, to hospitals across the nation. Patients in hospitals equipped with BloodBank Manager can rest assured that there will be no mix-ups with transfusion and other blood based treatments.
