INTEL ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF A NEW MD OF INTEL MALAYSIA, ASSEMBLY AND TEST


KUALA LUMPUR, August 13, 2007 – Intel today announced the appointment of Mr. Atul Bhargava as the Managing Director Intel Malaysia, Assembly & Test. Bhargava will be managing Intel’s operations in Penang, Kulim & Cyberjaya. His responsibilities include overseeing the assembly/test facilities, systems manufacturing facilities, design centers, supporting marketing functions, technology development and other support organizations.

Atul Bhargava will focus on developing strategic plans to support the country’s vision in driving the nation’s adoption in technology through involving a long-term knowledge workforce and ecosystem development programmes as well as strategic collaborations with key industry players and the Government. He will be responsible for expanding the workforce in Penang and Kulim to ensure that Intel constantly delivers product innovations that are set to enhance the lives of Malaysians.

Atul Bhargava first joined Intel in 1984 as a package development engineer and has since held various senior management positions at Intel spanning across manufacturing, product R&D, business unit operations and factory operations. Prior to this appointment, he was the general manager of the Assembly and Test Microprocessor factory based in Intel Kulim. Through his leadership, the factory has successfully ramped latest generation microprocessors and communication products. Atul Bhargava was responsible for the setup and startup of the Test Engineering function of the PG8 factory located at Penang in 1998 making this his second leading role in the region.

Atul Bhargava has a deep passion for the community in which he played an active role in leading various community outreach activities for Intel. His most recent involvement was in an active support of the Corporate Social Responsibility CEO roundtable forum in Penang while also participating in several events organized by the Intel Involved – a volunteering committee formed by Intel employees.

Atul Bhargava holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and an Executive MBA from Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management in Arizona.
