Nokia 7500 Prima啓發Project Runway最終作品設計

The new Nokia 7500 Prism Inspires Project Runway Finalists’ Design

Kuala Lumpur – How does a mobile phone inspire creativity? Finalists of the debut season of Project Runway Malaysia had the chance to find out in the latest episode of the hit reality TV series.

In episode 12 of the show entitled ‘Inspiration’, finalists Felix, Alexandria, Fitri, and Hatta were surprised with a brand new Nokia 7500 Prism. The finalists were then tasked with using the mobile device to capture images that would inspire their designs.

As part of the task, Felix, Alexandria, Fitri, and Hatta, were taken to a boutique owned by a famous local designer and, along the way, were instructed to take pictures that would influence their next fashion design. Each finalist also had to explain to the panel of judges why they had taken the particular picture, what inspired them and how this translated into their creation.

“Being inspired to create is important to these budding talents as they pit against each other for the coveted title of Malaysia’s next big fashion designer. The Nokia 7500 Prism was chosen as it is one of the latest in a range of mobile phones aimed at style-conscious consumers. What better way to find and capture an inspiration than with a slick, cutting-edge design mobile device – the Nokia 7500 Prism?” said Joanne Foo, Marketing Services Manager, Nokia Malaysia.

Snapping away with their new Nokia 7500 Prism, the finalists of Project Runway Malaysia found much inspiration on the streets of Kuala Lumpur:

“I saw a really beautiful batik gown and was inspired by the patterns on it. It had traditional, asymmetrical motifs and I saw an opportunity to ‘glam’ it up and turn it into a gorgeous outfit. I wanted to incorporate a modern twist to a traditional design. And I couldn’t help thinking of how similar this is to the Nokia 7500 Prism. It has unique, asymmetrical shapes on the back cover and a modern, futuristic look to the angled design. I also took really good pictures with it and loved how it was so easy to use, especially when we were in a rush to complete our tasks.” said Felix, one of the four Project Runway Malaysia finalists.

Hatta added, “In a competition like this, time is of essence and that’s where the Nokia 7500 Prism helped a lot! I was inspired by the gothic buildings around town and took a lot of pictures. I had an idea what my creation would be like, so when I started working on it, I was racing against a tight timeline to complete it. The Nokia 7500 Prism helped me maximize my time as I only had to Bluetooth the pictures to the printer, select print and could immediately get to work. Almost instantaneously, I had high quality pictures. This saved me a lot of time and hassle unlike other devices where I have to save the pictures to a PC and then hook the printer up to the PC.”

The Nokia Prism collection is highlighted by cutting-edge colors, materials and graphics. Its signature diamond-cut design, featuring sharp angled lines, geometric patterns and graphic light-refracting colors, ensure these models stand out in the mobile phone market. The Nokia 7500 Prism’s slick black exterior is spliced with bright, interchangeable color accents.

The Nokia 7500 Prism comes with a 2 Megapixel camera and has the capability to record high quality movies. Other features also include 8.5 hours music playback and holds up to 1500 songs on an optional 2 GB microSD card. This cool device is now available in the market at a recommended retail price of RM1,049.

“The Nokia 7500 Prism is for those who have individualistic edge. It is quirky with a burst of bright accent colour. Inspired by the modernist design and artfully plays with juxtaposition, we hope the designers will get some inspiration from the device and come up with an outfit that will blow the judges away. Nokia wishes all finalists all the best!” said Foo.

Project Runway Malaysia is aired every Friday at 9.30pm on 8TV. Tune in and find out who among the four finalists will make it to the grand finale on November 9, 2007 and ultimately voted the winner of Project Runaway Malaysia.
