Outsourcing Malaysia委任Alan Fung為執行董事 PETALING JAYA, March 26, 2008 –Outsourcing Malaysia (OM) has tapped Alan Fung as its Executive Director to intensify OM’s efforts and activities in taking OM to the global stage. According OM Chairman David Wong, “We welcome Alan to OM and look forward to his valuable contributions as the Executive Director in evolving OM onto the global arena.”
OM’s pace of activities is expected to step up with Fung’s appointment. “I thank OM’s Executive Committee for this opportunity. Moving forward, I am confident OM will be able to grow and meet its growth objectives,” said Fung, who has more than 20 years of experience in various sub-sectors of the ICT industry.
One of OM’s growth objectives this year is to grow its membership to 100 from the current 36. Fung is also tasked to lead and manage the development, implementation and execution of several OM’s activities and studies. These include outbound missions to 11th Annual Shared Services Week Asia to be held in Singapore this August, OM Inaugural Conference held in Kuala Lumpur this September and Outsource World held in New York this October.
He will also oversee two joint strategic studies with Multimedia Development Corp (MDeC); the first is the Marketing Strategic Study and second, Human Capital Study. Both studies are expected to take six months.
Prior to his appointment today, Fung had served as tx123 Malaysia Sdn Bhd’s chief executive officer. He had also founded and led Permission.com Sdn Bhd. tx123M is an e-procurement specialist and joint-venture between the Malayan Banking Group and a local ICT Group while Permission.com is a local pioneer for permission-based marketing in Malaysia.
He had also formerly helmed PIKOM as its Executive Director from 1994 to June 2000. Later, he had also contributed his time and experience to serve as PIKOM’s Councillor, Treasurer and Secretary.
Fung graduated University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada with a Degree in Computing Science and Business Administration. He is married with three children.
