Energizer breaks into Malaysia Book of Records

GENTING HIGHLANDS: Energizer’s icon, Mr. NRG was recently inducted into the Malaysia Book of Records for achieving the status of The Biggest Battery Icon in the country. Measuring 26.35 meters in height and 14.4 meters wide, the icon is situated behind the Genting Hotel and can be visibly seen from the resort’s outdoor theme park.

Erected in March 2007, the structure was erected to further amplify Energizer’s achievements through its many firsts.

Mike Foong, Managing Director of Energizer Malaysia Sdn Bhd said, “Energizer is very proud of its achievements through the many firsts in the household portable power segment.”

“This event is certainly befitting Energizer leadership status in Malaysia and a testimony to the trust and confidence of our customers and consumers on Energizer. We also would like to thank our customers & consumers for continuing to support Energizer,” he added.

Foong was speaking at the awards ceremony to celebrate Mr. NRG’s Malaysian record in Genting, which was jointly organized by Energizer and Resorts World Bhd.

Also in attendance was Mr Chow Wei Heng, Vice President, National Marketing of Resorts World.

“We are very proud to be hosting the Energizer icon in our resort. It has become a must-see and highly visible attraction situated next to the Theme Park. Last year, I believe 20 million guests, of which 4 million were from abroad, have been fascinated by the gigantic structure,” Chow said.

Others who attended the event were Datuk Danny Ooi, Managing Director of Malaysian Book of Records Sdn Bhd, local celebrities Vanessa Chong of Amazing Race Asia 2 fame, and the top six finalists of the So You Think You Can Dance reality TV series.

At the awards ceremony held on 16 August 2008, winners of Energizer’s World’s Biggest Energizer Battery Consumer Contest were also presented with their prizes. The grand prize, a 52-inch Sharp Aquos LCD TV worth RM 19,999 was won by student, Thum Xue Sheng.
