NETGEAR broadens ReadyNAS SMB Storage Line with new rack-mount system

MALAYSIA — May 18, 2009 — NETGEAR(r), Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR), a worldwideprovider of technologically innovative, branded networking solutions,recently announced the addition of rack-mount Unified Network Storageappliances and secure remote access to its award-winning family ofReadyNAS(r) products for Small- to Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs).

The ReadyNAS 2100 is a high-quality yet affordable 1U 4-bay storagesystem that enables SMBs to securely share, store and protectbusiness-critical files across a LAN or WAN, guard against diskfailures, and grow capacity as needed. The ultra-compact ReadyNAS 2100has enterprise-grade hard drives and Error Correction Code (ECC) RAM forhigher reliability, as well as Intel(r) Architecture for two times theperformance of the previous ReadyNAS 1100 product. Compared tocompetitive 1U products, the shallow form factor enables a 100 percentincrease in rack density through back-to-back mounting in a four-postdatacenter rack.

Its innovative modulardesign — the “X-CHANGE” rapid system board module, with the systemboard, power supply and cooling fans packaged into a discrete module —and remarkable 12-inch depth make it ideal for easy servicing, andfacilitate back-to-back physical arrangements.
