Malaysian-made GogoLetsGo Ranked No. 1 on Apple’s Featured Travel Apps

With intimate local insights covering more than 150 cities across 75 countries

GogoLetsGo is a travel application for smartphones, single-handedly developed by former Malaysian radio announcer Kimberlee Thong.

Launched in February this year, the mobile city guide has garnered close to a thousand downloads, and was also ranked No. 1 on Apple’s featured Travel Apps on its second day of going live!
Available for Apple and Android smartphones, GogoLetsGo provides users access to informative insights of more than 150 cities across 75 countries and growing.

The travel app contains 10 categories that help users to get the best out of each city. Upon selecting the city of choice, GogoLetsGo provides users with nuggets of local history, places of interest, pictures, exciting happenings as well as cultural dos and don’ts in its easy-to-navigate interface.Apart from locating hotels and restaurants, an integrated map also pinpoints users to interesting hotspots that encompass anything from street bazaars to ATMs to night clubs, and even nearest hospitals in case of emergencies.“Whether you’re going on a luxury holiday, backpacking across Europe, or even a spontaneous wanderlust, the idea here is that anything you need to maximise the experience is all in GogoLetsGo,” said Kimberlee, whose first trip to Thailand three years ago inspired this pocket-sized solution.

Kimberlee’s appetite for travelling keeps all the info on the mobile city guide up to date, which she also gathers through research, word-of-mouth and personal experiences from her friends here and abroad.Setting itself apart from other travel apps out there, the best thing about GogoLetsGo is the offline function. Users can download city data prior to their vacation and access all info without an Internet connection, a convenience without hefty roaming charges.

This Malaysia-made mobile city guide is free for download on Apple iTunes and Google Play for Android.
There is also a paid version for USD 0.99 (RM3) a year that is ads-free and features an additional ‘Deals’ category which highlights discounts and exclusive deals in the locality for travellers on a budget.

GogoLetsGo has big plans in the pipeline, including an interactive newsfeed feature and availability for Blackberry smartphones, all in the coming future.
