YELLOW PAGES MALAYSIA WALKS INTO A NEW ERA

TM Info-Media unveiled new logo for Yellow Pages


TM Info-Media Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), recentlyunveiled the new logo of Yellow Pages, its well-known directory for business listings, giving thepublication an uplift and refreshed look after being part of the service offerings of TM Group formore than 20 years.


Alfian Abu Talib, Chief Executive Officer, TM Info-Media said, “The decision to rejuvenate the lookof the ever familiar “Walking Finger” was made to reinforce our product identity and mark thetransformation of the business directory industry into a one-stop site as the information aggregator.Rapid technological developments was the impetus for Yellow Pages to enhance its serviceofferings via the web and online services, digital books and mobile applications.”

The new logo depicts a refreshed ‘walking finger’ image with a more focused, smoother and richercolour of the logo and font. The book in the logo has been replaced with a ‘dog-ear’ mark, indicatingYellow Pages’ move towards a whole new suite of communication media; print, online, digital andmobile.


“We believe that the introduction of this new identity is timely and relevant as we reach out to thenew generation of tech-savvy consumers and at the same time assure our loyal customers of ourcontinued commitment to the services we are providing,” Alfian reiterated.

Moving into the Internet era, the online version of Yellow Pages went ‘live’ since 2003 and in linewith the new identitiy, the internet Yellow Pages (iYP) also received a newly redesigned facelift,which features a simplified and clean look that allows easier access, as well as better searchcapabilities.


In addition, to keep up with the ever growing trend of smart phones and tablets usage, TMIM hasmoved further into the innovation and developed its new mobile Yellow Pages which was introducedto Malaysians at its launch held during the TM SME BizFest in Sunway Convention Center, heldearlier this month.


The iYP website, which now registers about 1 million page hits per month, together with the recentlyintroduced mobile Yellow Pages are expected to bring greater value for the advertisers as they willhave wider reach and exposure to the mass consumers. Commenting on the innovative new application, Alfian said, “The app is an important achievementfor us as it allows our users to search for local content that would be more relevant to the Malaysianconsumers. The app which will be available for download via Apple’s Apple Store in June 2012 willalso be released for the Android based operating systems and other popular platforms in stages.We expect it to be fully developed by July 2012, and will continuously be improved with the valuablefeedback received from the users.”
