Throughout the four day exhibition, IGEM 2012 will act as a vibrant platform to facilitate the exchange of innovative and dynamic ideas amongst stakeholders in the green industry and at the same time an informative hub for the public. Key focus will be placed on eight major sectors – Building, Eco Products & Services, Energy, Green Financing, ICT, Manufacturing, Transportation and Water & Waste Management.

“IGEM2012 plays an instrumental role in bringing together trade opportunities and commercial viable green technology solutions while igniting a dynamic exchange of ideas on how green technology can improve the lives of Malaysians and promote growth to the Malaysian economy to new heights. It has been three consecutive years since IGEM was first organised in 2010 and based on the growing results, I am confident that Malaysia will become the green technology hub in the region,” said PM Dato’ Sri Najib.

Stepping up a notch and going beyond boundaries to further drive the green growth in Malaysia, IGEM 2012 provides a strategic platform and an abundance of opportunities for eco-preneurs, business owners, venture capitalists, policy makers, scientists, researchers, educators and advocates of green technology to forge stronger business and community relationships.

Organisers will be expecting about 100,000 visitors for this year’s exhibition, as over 600 exhibitors from 60 different countries across the world put on the finishing touches to their booths, pavilions and showrooms.  Leading the green growth agenda, IGEM 2012 presents 7 international pavilions from Austria, Japan (JETRO), Korea (Keiti) & (Incheon), Taiwan, Singapore, and the European Union. IGEM2012 will see the congregation of over 330 unique organisations in the above eight sectors. IGEM 2012 also sees the participation of Honda, listed as the top 10 green giants by Fortune 500 Magazine and other automotive players including UMW Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Proton. World leading solar companies such as Suntech Power, Jinko Solar, Changzhou Trina and YINGLI Greentech are also participating in IGEM 2012.

“I believe that in its third year running, IGEM2012 has evolved into a platform where the very best and brightest minds in each respective industries meet to discuss and exchange ideas on how we can improve the world we live in. It is aimed at developing Malaysia into a regional hub for green technology expertise and also to further spur the growth of green technology for the Malaysian economy,” said Dato’ Sri Peter Chin.
