Speaking at the event, Azizi was optimistic about the potential benefits that this strategic partnership with Microsoft will bring, especially to the SME segment. This partnership adds another chapter for TM, in line with its aspiration to become the preferred communications and solutions partner to SMEs in Malaysia.

“Whether we realise it or not, we are actually living in the era of the “cloud computing”. Day by day, cloud computing is becoming essential for most of us. Many services that we use in our daily life are actually based in the cloud, such as web-based email to online file storage. In Malaysia, SMEs now have started to realise the power of cloud computing technology.”

“Looking at this increasing adoption of cloud computing application in market, we at TM see this as an opportunity to help SMEs to expand their business. This is achieved by introducing an all-in-one complete solution which is convenient, big on value and low on cost through the Office in a Box™ package. It is also in line with TM’s aspiration – ’to be a one-stop business solutions provider with a comprehensive range of tools to help your business grow’,” added Azizi.

Commenting on the collaboration, Faycal said, “As a world leader in cloud solutions for businesses, Microsoft is committed to transforming Malaysia together with TM. For the 20 years that we have been here in Malaysia, we could not be happier to partner with TM in achieving the country’s aspirations to become a high-income economy and through realising the goals stated in Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Plan and Digital Master Plan. Apart from Microsoft, there is no other IT company in the world that offers strong, credible solutions for businesses of all sizes. At the same time, TM’s position as Malaysia’s leading broadband provider makes it the ideal partner to help us bring the benefits of Office 365 to all Malaysian businesses!”

“Many businesses are beginning to realise the power of cloud computing technology – whether it is the ability to leverage IT capabilities more cost-effectively, creating new ways to serve new customers, or even operating a business without IT limits. Microsoft, through Office 365, is helping businesses rest assured that their IT needs are taken care of, leaving them to concentrate on what they do best: managing and driving their businesses,” added Faycal.

Malaysian SMEs play a vital role in Malaysia’s economic aspirations. The Government aspires for the SME sector to grow its contribution to the country’s GDP to 40%, from its current 32%, by the year 2020. Leveraging technologies like cloud computing has been mooted as a strategy for SMEs to adopt in order to achieve this.

Through this new enhancement, subscribers of Office in a Box™ with Microsoft® Office 365 can collaborate more efficiently and at the same time reduce their operating cost by utilising Microsoft Office productivity tools, such as email, web conferencing, instant messaging and online versions of Microsoft Office.

Office in a Box™ with Microsoft® Office 365 is available to the market and is open for subscription starting from today.
