VADS APPOINTS FERMIN FAUTSCH AS VICE PRESIDENT, ICT SERVICES

VADS Berhad (VADS), Malaysia’s leading Managed Information and Communications Technology (ICT)/Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) service provider, today announced the appointment of Fermin Fautsch as its new Vice President for ICT Services effective 25 March 2013.

Fautsch, 53, brings with him more than 30 years of experience in building and managing information technology, operations and consulting businesses across the Oil & Gas, Telecommunications, Financial Services and Utilities industries.

Most recently, he served as the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Partner and Company Director of Logica South East Asia and Hong Kong covering Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Hong Kong. He is currently the Director and Chairman of the EU Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is also a member of the EU ASEAN Business Council.

Fautsch, a Systems Engineer by qualification, holds an MBA with honours from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in International Economics from John Hopkins University. He has also taught international business at the University of California. He is an avid golfer, swimmer and diver and is a holder of the Malaysian resident pass.

Fautsch began his career with the World Bank under the prestigious Young Professionals Programme, starting his assignment in East Africa as an economist followed by an assignment as a Financial Officer in the Treasury Department in Washington, DC. He then assumed his role as a management consultant with McKinsey & Co in Iberia and Brazil.

Before coming to Asia, Fautsch was the CEO of Logica in South America and prior to that, he was the Managing Director of the company, overseeing the Energy and Telecommunications markets of Portugal, Spain, Italy, Africa and Hong Kong / Macau. He was also an Executive Board Member and Chief Information Officer of PT Prime, the corporate telecom services provider of Portugal Telecom.
