iOS preferred Mobile Platform across Industries
Kuala Lumpur, April 3, 2013 - The Enterprise Cloud report released on 20 March by Citrix showed that organizations are becoming more aggressive on app blacklisting, with 18 percent of them deploying this policy in the fourth quarter of 2012, an increase of 11 percent from the prior quarter.
• Angry Birds
• Dropbox
• YouTube
While the most commonly whitelisted apps were:
• Evernote
• NitroDesk
• TouchDown
• Google Chrome
• Adobe Reader
Skype was the only app that made it to both the blacklist and whitelist.
The report was based on aggregate data from Citrix customers who have deployed enterprise mobility management in the cloud.
The report also revealed that:
• iOS is the preferred mobile platform for vertical industries in which mobile users engage customers one-on-one, such as in retail or restaurants.
• The largest adopters include the energy, legal and insurance industries.
About 75 percent of Citrix’s customers in Asia Pacific, including Japan, in Q4 2012, enrolled iOS as the mobile platform of choice, higher than the global average of 58 percent. The global share of enrolled iOS mobile platforms rose two percent to 58 percent in Q4 2012, extending its lead from the previous quarter.
