MIMOS AND HP INKS PARTNERSHIP

National R&D centre in ICT becomes ASEAN’s first and currently only HP AllianceONE and SDN Ecosystem partner

Kuala Lumpur, January 10: MIMOS, the national R&D centre in ICT, today announced that it has joined the Software Defined Networks (SDN) Ecosystem framework within the HP AllianceOne HP Networking specialisation, making it the first such partner of the multinational corporation in Malaysia and South East Asia.

The partnership between HP, one of the world’s biggest IT corporations and MIMOS reinforces the latter’s role as the country’s leading ICT agency and among the most premier R&D centres in the region and strengthens their mission to lead the way in ICT innovations.

The HP AllianceONE Partner Program is a worldwide programme for agencies and companies who develop market-leading solutions running on key HP technologies and platforms. The comprehensive, integrated programme will provide MIMOS the tools and resources needed to build a successful, collaborative relationship with HP and to allow the centre to advance information technology in Malaysia.

HP’s SDN Ecosystem will provide MIMOS an end-to-end solution to automate the network from data centre to campus and branch. Expanding on the innovation of SDN, the ecosystem delivers resources to help businesses develop and create a marketplace for SDN applications.

Abdul Wahab added that as an AllianceONE and SDN Ecosystem partner, MIMOS would be able to accelerate their creativity and innovation through community dialogues and collaboration. HP’s SDN Ecosystem will also allow MIMOS to provide information and communication technologies of the highest quality.

He said SDN was part of the MIMOS Open Innovation Platform, which aims to enrich the Mi-Cloud solution and eventually fuse the MIMOS Open Innovation Platform with more choices, speed, and agility to create custom applications and new capabilities, adding that MIMOS will next focus on developing software defined storage.

MIMOS’ current cloud technology recipients include TM and Perkeso. The centre has created a secure enterprise cloud in various verticals such as public safety, medical and finance.

“I have no doubt this strategic partnership will not only be imperative for the country, but is also critical in ensuring MIMOS keeps pace with today’s evolving IT environments,” he said. “We will continue to pursue more such partnerships with multinational corporations who are willing to share their technologies.”

Abdul Wahab said the collaboration was also a means for MIMOS’ to reaffirm their commitment to continue delivering only the best R&D and ICT solutions to clients, create new business opportunities for partners and further increase the value add of solutions to customers.
