Fortinet Announces Full Support for AscenLink Product Line in Malaysia

MALAYSIA - 30 April, 2014 – Fortinet − a world leader in high-performance network security – today announced that the post-sales support infrastructure for the AscenLink link load balancing products it recently acquired has been fully set up, and is ready to service new customers in Malaysia.

Dato' Seri George Chang, Fortinet's Vice President for Southeast Asia & Hong Kong, said: "We are delighted that Fortinet’s FortiCare support for AscenLink users have been fully set up. We look forward to providing our Malaysian customers with the same high standards of services associated with the rest of our Fortinet solutions, and allowing them to benefit from industry-leading security and networking solutions to take their business to the next level."

Existing users of AscenLink should contact their local Fortinet distributors and resellers to register their products and sign up for FortiCare support services, which will be brought online this month. These Fortinet partners will also be the contact points for purchase of AscenLink products.

In today's enterprise environment where data centers and branch offices need high performance coupled with strong security, application delivery and security must work hand-in-hand to ensure quality of service while still preventing attacks. AscenLink's link load balancing technologies is a mature solution with link tunneling, QoS and other WAN-focused features, and complements Fortinet's solutions and platform offerings for branch, enterprise and data center environments.

In October 2013, Fortinet introduced this new line of products under the Fortinet name “Fortinet AscenLink", as part of Fortinet's application delivery network (ADN) solution suite, which includes the FortiADC and FortiBalancer application delivery controllers and the FortiDirector global server load balancing service.

AscenLink is an edge server appliance deployed on the border between enterprise intranets (LANs) and the Internet (WAN). It merges multiple WAN links into virtual pipes to deliver bandwidth aggregation and WAN fault tolerance for faster and more reliable application delivery.

AscenLink delivers unmatched price/performance by integrating multiple low cost WAN links to perform on par with expensive leased lines. It effectively reduces ISP subscriber charges to a fraction of a leased line rental, while creating carrier-class network reliability. Fortinet offers three models − the AscenLink 700, 5000 and 6000 − each with different bandwidth licensing options to deliver speeds up to 3 Gbps.
