Ricoh Malaysia promotes Best Management Practices in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 5 December 2007 – Ricoh Malaysia, a global leader in digital office solutions, today awarded a challenge trophy to Yung Kong Galvanizing Industries Berhad, champions of the MIM-Ricoh National Management Game (NMG) 2007. The prize-giving ceremony was held during National Management Conference 2007 organized by Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Ricoh Malaysia is one of the key partners of MIM’s 1-day management conference that comprised a distinguished panel of international management leaders, Malaysian CEOs as well as captains of the industries.

The annual MIM National Management Game is a realistic computer-simulated business game that tests the knowledge and skills of participants in the fields of production, investment, pricing, finance and marketing strategies. As the Platinum Sponsor for NMG 2007, Ricoh Malaysia donated RM80,000 which went towards organizing the national games as well as funding an all-expense trip for the Malaysian team to compete at the Regional Management Game in Kolkatta, India.

“Ricoh’s emphasis on values does not stop at business profitability. Middle managers are critical success factors for any enterprise and they should be harnessed to provide leadership to the general staff,” said Lim Eng Weng, Managing Director of Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

He stressed that developing and promoting best management practices such as Ricoh-MIM National Management Game sponsorship has always been the core of Ricoh Malaysia’s vision.

“We would like to continue to contribute to the Malaysian corporate sector through other key initiatives, including Ricoh’s own CEO Breakfast Talk series aimed at creating awareness on the importance of information security by adopting Information Security Management Systems (ISMS),” Lim stated.

Ricoh Malaysia, together with other leading Malaysian companies and corporate personalities were also recognized for their respective contribution to MIM’s National Management Conference 2007 “Honouring Legacy, Creating the Future through Management Leadership”. The conference was well-attended by over 500 delegates from various key sectors.
