DATO’ NAJMUDDIN ABDULLAH APPOINTED AS CELCOM’S NEW HEAD OF CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

Kuala Lumpur, 13 May 2008 – Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad is proud to announce that Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah, 39, has been appointed as its new Head / Vice President of Corporate Communications, effective immediately.

He will be overseeing all public relations and corporate communications matters, which includes media and government relations, internal communications, community relations and sponsorship & donations.

“With his broad experience in the public relations field, I believe Dato’ Najmuddin will be able to effectively fill in this position that has long been vacant. He is a valuable addition to the Celcom team and I am confident that he will help take the Company to even greater success,” said Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly, Chief Executive Officer, Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad.

Dato’ Najmuddin has more than 11 years experience in the public relations field, having served in various industries such as automobile, broadcasting, properties and now telecommunications.

Dato’ Najmuddin received his Master of Arts Degree and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Toledo, Ohio, USA.

About Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah
Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah is the Head / Vice President of Corporate Communications, Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad. He has served as the Senior Manager of Brand Marketing and Communications of TH Properties Sdn Bhd from 2006 until 2008, where he was responsible for marketing products of Bandar Enstek, a 5,116-acre new township near KLIA. Under his leadership, the marketing, communications and sales team achieved the monthly sales target of 20 houses in year 2007.

Prior to joining TH Properties, Dato' Najmuddin was the Head of News & Current Affairs / Head of Corporate Communications at ntv7 from 2002 to 2005. He led a team of 160 staff in the head office and bureau offices nationwide, and was responsible for managing daily news content, corporate communications, publicity and government relations. Dato’ Najmuddin also played a key role in the re-branding exercise of news content known as My News Network (MNN).
Before that, he was the Manager of Corporate Communications for Automobili Motorsports (an affiliate of American Le Mans Series) from 2001 to 2002. He began his career as a Corporate Communications Executive at Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) in 1997.
