Ricoh Unleashes New High-End MFP for Seamless “Pro”duction Printing

MALAYSIA, 18 September 2008 – Ricoh, a global leader in digital office solutions, recently launched the Ricoh Pro 906EX, Pro 1106EX and Pro 1356EX series of high volume multifunction (MFP) production printers capable of meeting the demanding production workload of today’s tough business environment. The new ‘Pro’ series is synonymous with productivity, professionalism and progress, which demonstrates Ricoh’s extensive expertise in high-end printing. Robust and easy-to-use, these systems cater to the quality, speed, reliability, durability and finishing needs of printing professionals.

Unprecedented print speed is the primary force behind Ricoh’s revolutionary Pro series. Ricoh’s Pro 1356EX generates the first copy in 3 seconds with prints of up to 135 pages-per-minute (ppm) and efficiently produces an estimated 2 million pages per month. The Pro 906EX and the Pro 1106EX prints at 90 ppm and 110 ppm respectively, while all three systems produce duplex and simplex printing at similar speed. With Ricoh’s 2 x 4-beam laser technology, the Pro series achieves impeccable output quality at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. “The traditional production printing market has become increasingly competitive due to the varied demands for more complex and professionally finished documents. Featuring 100-sheet document feeder with high-speed colour scan capability, these MFPs scan colour and black-and-white documents rapidly, with speed of 80 sides-per-minute (spm). In addition, the Pro 906EX, Pro 1106EX and Pro 1356EX series are equipped with up to 9 paper feed stations, all with A3 oversized capability (up to 330mm x 458mm or 13” x 18”). These powerhouse printing machines ensure interrupted workflow with its two toner bottles that are capable of producing a total of 150, 000 A4 pages, automatic tray switching and paper capacity of up to a total of 8, 500 sheets.

One of the outstanding user-friendly features across all Pro series models is the 10.4” Super VGA Colour Touch Panel Display that enables easy operations with large graphics display and an intuitive menu design with versatile editing functions. Other notable features include universal design for paper trays, preview capability on document server and delivery scanner for easy viewing of stored documents.

The level of Professional editing is also enhanced via the sophisticated DeskTopEditor For Production software. This optional feature enables users to edit, deskew, despeckle, remove punch holes and grey margin areas page by page or integrally. Additionally, paper and electronic documents could be combined, saved or printed as one document. Aside from editing software, doc-Q-manager workflow software solution in the “Pro” series offers ticketing, print queue management, variable data printing and job splitting over multiple engines.

For a comprehensive in-line finishing, users can look choose from Ricoh Pro series’ exceptional range of professional in-line document finishing options that is unmatched at this end of the market. Documents with rings are ready at the push of a button with the unique automatic Ring Binder RB5000. The Ring Binder is the industry’s first fully automated ring binder which punches and binds books of up to 100 A4 sheets easily. Its innovation technology drastically improves employees’ productivity and efficiency while cuts down the traditional workload of producing finished documents.
Alternatively, the Perfect Binder PB5000 option provides beautifully bound books of up to 400 pages with 3-side trimming, while the handy Z-folder unit automatically folds A3 sheets into A4 or A4 documents into A5 and allows seamless integration of larger sheets in smaller sized sets.
