Ricoh Malaysia Supports Asia Pacific’s Largest Congress of Administrative Professionals in Kuala Lumpur

RM50,000 cash sponsorship for 19th ASA Congress aimed at promoting greater professionalism in secretaries and administrators

MALAYSIA, 16 October 2008 – Ricoh, a global leader in digital office solutions, announced a RM50,000 cash sponsorship to the Malaysian Association of Professional Secretaries and Administrators (MAPSA) as Platinum Sponsor for the 19th Congress of Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals in the Asia-Pacific (ASA).

“Malaysia needs to continuously invest and develop its human capital in order to compete effectively in the global arena. Administrative professionals are a vital component of any business organization and Ricoh is committed to promote professional development and recognition of their roles,” said Lim Eng Weng, Managing Director of Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd, after a mock cheque presentation ceremony at Ricoh Malaysia’s head office in Shah Alam.

The biennial ASA Congress, to be held from 19 – 22 October 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel Kuala Lumpur, is expected to bring together leading administrative professionals and secretaries of different backgrounds, cultures and work environments across Asia Pacific. MAPSA Malaysia last played host to this prestigious congress almost 22 years ago.

Ricoh Malaysia has recently stepped up collaboration with leading organisations across various industries in Malaysia to accelerate human capital development. In the education sector, Ricoh has teamed with INTI International University College to set up its E-Resource Centre to expose undergraduates to advance digital office solutions and jointly develop teaching curriculum. Other recent partnerships formed also include a 5-year sponsorship deal with the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) to organize MIM-Ricoh National Management Game.
