14 November 2011, Kuala Lumpur - Catcha Digital and U Mobile entered into a branded content partnership agreement on the new MSN Malaysia Tech (“MSN Tech”) channel (MSN.com.my/Tech), making U Mobile the first brand to connect with MSN Tech fast-growing reader base.
Damon Rielly, General Manager of Catcha Digital said, “We are happy to have U Mobile as a sponsor of our newly launched MSN Tech channel which is the go-to source for all things gadgets, games and technology. Since its introduction, MSN Tech was visited by more than 260,000 unique users consuming close to 2 million pageviews. As a partner, U Mobile gets to leverage on this traffic in an ideal contextual environment where MSN readers have elevated interests in all things tech.”
According to a Global Web Index study, the top two purchases of MSN and Windows Live users are mobile phones and broadband plans. In addition, they are more likely to research before they buy.
Dr. Kaizad Heerhee, Chief Executive Officer of U Mobile said, “As the nation’s most dynamic and innovative telco service provider, we are always looking for big ideas to help connect our brand with consumers. U Mobile is currently offering the fastest mobile broadband service with blazing speed of up to 42Mbps which translates to great video and audio streaming experiences. By working with Catcha Digital and Microsoft Advertising, we are able to further enhance our customer outreach via MSN Tech’s high readership.”
MSN Tech was launched in September this year and has quickly grown to be the second highest traffic channel on MSN.com.my, just behind the news channel. While traffic numbers surpassed expectations, Damon explained that it is not surprising as tech is what MSN readers are passionate about. “We listen to our readers and launch channels according to market demand. There are more channel launches planned from now till the next year. What’s coming list includes automotive, wedding, Korean entertainment, men’s interest and the list goes on which makes 2012 very exciting for us,” he said.
Catcha Digital is the strategic partner of Microsoft Advertising in Malaysia, covering both MSN Malaysia (MSN.com.my) and Windows Live, and exclusive advertising partner for Lowyat.net.
