With year-end festivities in mind, shoppers at PC Expo 2011 Alor Star this week can expect plenty of bargains and offers at the Expo, held at Alor Star Mall, December 16 – 18, 2011.

DECEMBER 14, 2011, KUALA LUMPUR – The next leg of the year-end PC Expo 2011 makes its way to Alor Star, this week. According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, PC Expo 2011 Alor Star will be held at Alor Star Mall, with expectations to host more than 45,000 visitors.

The Expo is expected to draw a large crowd due to the on-going school holidays. “We are ready to host a large crowd of shoppers this weekend,” she said adding the Expo plays an important role in the consumer lifestyle ecosystem by helping local consumer digital lifestyle retailers reach a wider audience and strengthen their presence. PC Expo 2011 is created and organised by EM Exhibitions.

Several local consumer digital lifestyle retailers include Grand Frontier Technology (Kedah) Sdn Bhd (Booth AS15, AS22), Info Gate Communication Sdn Bhd (Booth AS16, AS17, AS18, AS19, AS20 and AS21), Ketari Merah Enterprise (Booth AS06, AS07, AS23 and AS24), Micro-D (M) Sdn Bhd (Booth AS10), Mobile Shine Telecommunication (AS27) and WKC Business Solution (M) Sdn Bhd (Booth AS14).

She said the consumer digital lifestyle landscape in Alor Star is improving and agreed with an International Data Corporation analysis released last week which highlighted price drops in PCs and notebooks have invigorated consumer spending, especially with Intel Core i5 processors PCs where prices dropped to as low as RM1,799. “These are good news for shoppers at PC Expo 2011 this week for they can enjoy stretching their purchasing power at the Expo."

In addition, she said fans of the event can participate in "What I Really Want to have for Xmas” contest, held from December 15 to 31, 2011. “Use your humour and creativity to snap a photo that lives up to the theme “Show Us Your Best `Jingle’,” she said adding the photo will be posted on PC Expo Facebook. “The photo submission with the most “likes” wins.” She said the winner will receive a festive Christmas dinner for two worth RM168.00 and a RM50.00 PC Expo shopping voucher. “There are also consolation prizes.” Please visit www.facebook.com/pcexpo for more details.

We are giving away a new Apple iPhone 4S as the top prize,” she said. More than 300,000 shoppers have enjoyed the numerous bargains, conveniences and year-end offers at PC Expo 2011. “Tablet devices, smartphones, digital cameras, mobile and fixed line broadband subscriptions and accessories appear to be the pick of the shoppers at the Expo, which started last month in Kuala Lumpur and Kluang,” she said. “This trend clearly supports recent news of our national fixed line and wireless broadband penetration rate which has reached 81 per cent of populated areas. Malaysians are becoming increasing agile in terms of connectivity and productivity. Many handheld devices, be it tablets or smartphones, partnered with Internet access, is changing our digital lifestyle landscape and we expect the pace to pick up,” she said.
