Groupon Malaysia successfully collected over RM152, 730 in aid of children in need

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 JANUARY 2012 – Groupon Malaysia recently presented a cheque worth RM152,730 to UNICEF Malaysia in conjunction with their recent ‘Groupon for Children’ initiative held over the New Year’s period.

“Since we put up the donation, we have collected over RM152,730 from many of our generous Groupon members. The nation’s leading online group buying destination which successfully generated over 15,273 Groupons in just 10 days, will channel the funds raised to programmes that will help meet the rights and needs of some of the world’s most marginalised and deprived children.

“UNICEF Malaysia’s new partnership with Groupon Malaysia has been a strategic success in terms of how many Groupons were sold. We would like to thank everyone who supported this campaign. The funds raised would go a long way towards serving children in need and creating a world in which every child has their rights and needs met,” said Dr. Victor Karunan, UNICEF Deputy Representative to Malaysia.
