Kuala Lumpur, 16 January 2013 – Samsung Malaysia Electronics today unveiled the GALAXY S III mini, a compact version of the flagship smartphone GALAXY S III. The device brings the high performance, intuitive ease-of-use and nature-inspired design of the GALAXY S III to an elegant, compact smartphone with a 4.0-inch screen. Its slim and substantial light-weight build allows the elegant yet powerful device to be seamlessly infused into the varied active lifestyles of people.

The GALAXY S III mini is powered by Android™ 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System, giving people superb display enhancement that lends speedy, fluid and smooth graphics. It also incorporates a new Google Search™ experience featuring Google Now™, which brings people just the right information even before them seeking for it.

The GALAXY S III mini also understands people’s gestures ensuring a natural and intuitive experience. With Smart Stay, it cleverly keeps the display from timing out as long as the user is looking at it as the front-facing camera to track eye movements.

When reading a text message, Direct Call enables people to automatically dial a number simply by lifting the phone to the ear. Meanwhile the Smart Alert feature conveniently alerts people of missed calls or messages as the phone is picked up.

Content sharing is made easy and fast on the GALAXY S III mini using the S Beam. It allows people to share a 10MB music file in just two seconds simply by tapping on other S Beam-enabled devices, including the GALAXY S III or the GALAXY Note II, without using Wi-Fi or cellular signal. The ‘Buddy photo share’ function also allows photos to be simultaneously shared with friends from the camera or the photo gallery.
