Software AG Opens New Asia Pacific Regional Customer Care Centre in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - June 21, 2007 – Software AG, a global leader in business infrastructure software, today announced the official opening of the new Asia Pacific Regional Customer Care Centre in Malaysia. This new facility will serve all of Asia Pacific and Japan Region with language capabilities in English, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia.

Mr Bob Fabrizio, Senior Director, Customer Care, Asia Pacific and Japan, webMethods (now Software AG) said: “We decided to pick Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia as the Regional Customer Care Centre as it presented the best value for the money in terms of availability of highly skilled technical people with multiple language skills, especially Japanese and Korean. It is also well situated centrally in the Asia Pacific and Japan region. Currently, we have about 15 people located in this centre. We plan to continue to build our team in Kuala Lumpur as the Asia Pacific and Japan region grows”.Before the opening of this new centre, the Customer Care offices were in Sydney, Tokyo and Bangalore. The Sydney and Tokyo centres will focus mainly on providing some local services and care for critical issues from customers in those two respective countries, which are its two largest markets. Based on its direct access to the resources of the India Development Centre, the Bangalore operation will provide escalation support for all customers within the region.

The Regional Customer Care Centre also houses Software AG’s Malaysia office with its sales and professional services teams. Since it was established in 2000, webMethods (now Software AG) has provided its highly regarded solutions to many customers in various vertical industries such as financial services, manufacturing, government, telecommunications and automotive industries. Some of its customers include Perodua Manufacturing, Telekom Malaysia, Maxis, Hong Leong Assurance, Accountant General’s Office and Sabah Port.

With the recent Software AG’s acquisition of webMethods on June 1, 2007, the two companies are joining forces to create the world’s largest independent provider of business infrastructure software. “Within Asia Pacific, the strengths of webMethods and Software AG have proven to be very complementary. Together, we are now poised to be the leading independent provider of business integration, service-oriented architecture, business process management and legacy modernization technology for the region. He said that customers throughout Asia-Pacific and Japan have responded enthusiastically to the acquisition. On the product side, they will benefit from an expanded portfolio that preserves and extends their existing investments. “With a significantly expanded customer base, both locally and globally, we can also provide richer and more in-depth services as we now support enterprises in over 70 countries,” he highlighted.
