Second PC Expo 2012 wave splashes this week

The second edition of PC Expo 2012 will start June 29 involving six venues.

JUNE 26, 2012, KUALA LUMPUR – Final preparations are underway to ready the second edition of PC Expo 2012, which starts this week involving more than 200 exhibitors and six venues.

According EM Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd project director Jeslynn Wong Lee Chen, the Expo will be held at Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) in Penang and Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Melaka from June 29 to July 1. It will then make its way to Square One in Batu Pahat, Kluang Mall in Kluang and Alor Star Mall in Alor Star July 6 to 8 before arriving at the final venue, Persada Johor International Convention Centre Johor Bahru August 3 – 5.

She said consumer interest with tablet devices and smartphones, as part of a digital lifestyle, is in full swing. As such, the Expo will host exhibitors featuring a wide variety of tablet devices, smartphones and accessories. “The recent introduction of several new variants like Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC One S and Nokia Lumia 900, is poised to excite consumers at the Expo.” Tablet devices like the new iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 are most likely to dominate the spotlight at the Expo.

Variety and affordability are important factors for consumers considering a transition from feature-phones to smartphones, she said. Consumers shopping at the Expo can expect special offers and promotional or value-add bundling packages for these devices.

The first leg of the Expo in Penang and Melaka this weekend is ready to host presence from both multinational consumer digital lifestyle principals and domestic retailers. Exhibitors include Acer Sales & Services Sdn Bhd, Hewlett-Packard (M) Sdn Bhd, Packet One Networks (M) Sdn Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Bhd, Tele Dynamics Sdn Bhd, Western Digital (S.E. Asia) Pte Ltd and YTL Communications Sdn Bhd.

Participating local digital lifestyle retailers at Penang PC Expo 2012 include Compubay Sdn Bhd, Forward IT Sdn Bhd, Kao Yek Computer (PG) Technology Sdn Bhd, MicroNation Sdn Bhd and Pineapple Computer Products (PG) Sdn Bhd while at Melaka PC Expo 2012, local retailers include Kao Sheng Distribution Sdn Bhd, Makson Computer Sales & Services Sdn Bhd, Metakey Sdn Bhd, MPS Telecommunications Sdn Bhd and Pakard Photo Sdn Bhd.

Several prominent digital lifestyle distributors like Thunder Match Technology Sdn Bhd, Pixus Sdn Bhd, Navotech Technology Sdn Bhd and Vertex Distribution Sdn Bhd will also cast their presence at the Expo. “Accessories for wireless computing devices, tablets, smartphones and digital cameras continue to be in demand at the Expo as consumers shop for items that can individualise their digital lifestyle identity and experience.”
