Entitled the Fuji Xerox 2013 Sustainability Report, this report reveals Fuji Xerox’s commitment in allowing stakeholders to understand their business model, ethics and ideologies in maintaining economic, environmental and social sustainability through multi-contributions within the community. The report complies with the ten key principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) that ensure the protection of human rights, the elimination of abusive working practices, consideration for the environment and the elimination of corruption.

Datuk Loo Took Gee, Secretary-General, Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water. 3. Sunil Gupta, President, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (Malaysia Operations).

Apart from that, Fuji Xerox has ensured that the sustainability measurement and methodologies of the report fall within the comprehensive Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework, a structure that is widely used by global organisations around the world. The GRI is a non-profit organisation that promotes economic, environmental, and social sustainability, as well as governance performance, aiming towards a sustainable global economy.

“Fuji Xerox’s 2013 Sustainability Report is a step in demonstrating our commitment to transparency and open communication; sharing the vision for our company; giving business partners, investors and consumers insight into how we live our values; our progress towards a sustainable future and how we want to make a real difference in every life we have touched,” said Sunil Gupta, President of Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (Malaysia Operations). “A sustainable global economy should combine long-term profitability with social justice and environmental care. As we constantly keep up with the ever-evolving business world, we are committed to generating positive environmental and social impact in order to bring a sustainable living environment for future generations.”

‘Genko itchi’ Unity of Words and Deeds
Adhering to the Fuji Xerox Genko itchi principle – which means to ‘match words to deeds and actions’, Fuji Xerox opens its new Malaysian Headquarters at Menara Binjai, a first grade green building rented premise known as the “Tower of Sustainability”. With its strategic location in the central economic hub of Malaysia, this new office will upgrade Fuji Xerox’s capabilities and infrastructures to better serve their customers and improve work productivity. The office is a new chapter in the history of the company as it will be adopting a paperless environment, which truly adheres to its document solutions services. In addition, the open design will foster open communication among teams and customers reflecting the transparency principle of the company.

Having invested over RM100, 000 in management and employee time in 2012, Fuji Xerox continues its commitment in contributing more to the community in this year. In 2012, Fuji Xerox achieved a recycling rate of 99.5% for end-of-life products at all their business sites within Japan and overseas. Moving forward, Fuji Xerox targets to achieve a stronger customer focus by identifying areas of improvement in their products, standardised service nationwide and maintain customer service efficiency.

At the environmental level, Fuji Xerox aims to reduce their customers’ carbon dioxide emissions by seven million tonnes per year by 2020, in addition to achieving zero landfill, no pollution and no illegal disposal from their operations in the coming years. Furthermore, Fuji Xerox Malaysia is committed to planting 10,000 mangrove trees by 2015 as it is a declining resource but one that is essential in nourishing and protecting the local marine ecosystems. To raise awareness on climate change locally, Fuji Xerox Malaysia aims to involve their distributors in the tree planting programs. To address local education needs, Fuji Xerox will be partnering with ‘Teach for Malaysia’ by lending Fuji Xerox’s resources to print learning materials in colour.

“In Malaysia, sustainable development is constantly pursued in order to not only safeguard a cleaner environment, but also sustain a level of economic development without excessive waste and pollution, while preserving natural resources for future generations,” said Datuk Loo Took Gee, Secretary-General of Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water. “To achieve this, we need to develop a sense of citizenship in local sustainability efforts by reassessing our core value systems through the delivery of quality education and empowering communities to decide on the future they want to live in. It is heartening to see Fuji Xerox Malaysia practising sustainable efforts at all levels within their corporation, and it is laudable that Fuji Xerox Malaysia has set the benchmark for multinational corporations to follow.”

Sunil added, “Sustainability is deeply ingrained in the Fuji Xerox culture and we are actively involved in our programme. In a fast-growing market such as Malaysia, we strongly advocate that companies integrate sustainability practices into their business strategies. Corresponding to Bursa Malaysia’s commitment to ensure sustainability within capital markets, we strongly believe companies are able to develop that are not only sustainable, but also competitive products and services with the primary aim of building a quality market. Fuji Xerox will certainly continue to develop and engineer innovative products and services that are of high quality without negatively impacting the environment.”

Fuji Xerox Delivers High Quality, Reliable, A3 Multi-Function Devices for Small and Medium-sized Businesses

Kuala Lumpur, 19th September 2013 - Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. today announced the launch of its first award-winning fleet A3 multifunction devices DocuCentre S2010, S1810 and S2420 to be sold through its channel partners. The three monochrome multifunction devices are targeted for small and medium sized businesses.

These machines are the optimum multifunction solution for a wide variety of workspaces: from busy home offices, right up to medium-sized businesses. The DocuCentre S2010/ S1810 and DocuCentre S2420 offer simple yet feature-packed user interfaces along with intuitive design and versatile copy, print and scan capabilities.

Simon King (Left) and Ken Lee.

Ken Lee, General Manager of Fuji Xerox Printer Channel (Malaysia), said, “The DocuCentre S2010 and S1810 are easy-to-use multifunction solutions that are perfect for small businesses seeking to upgrade their daily productivity without having to bear significant upgrade costs. They are very high quality, entry-level A3 monochrome multifunction devices, and the stylish design will make them a welcome addition to any office.

“The DocuCentre S2420 will meet the high-volume demands of any small to medium-sized business, managing continuous usage and large print jobs with ease, without costing a fortune. The devices allow businesses to quickly and efficiently print quality and professional documents in house.”

Easy to use: easy to get great results
All of the new multifunction devices have a user-friendly display, putting all these great features at the user’s fingertips.  This simple operation will save time training staff and the intuitive operation flow allows users to obtain desired results without stress.

Each multifunction device’s interface includes one touch keys for easy access to the most common operations – including an exclusive key for ID card copying and paper settings. In addition, users of the DocuCentre S2010/S1810 can quickly determine the status of their print job via the start key’s blinking light.

The DocuCentre S2010/S1810 and DocuCentre S2420 have been designed with a wider output space and dark blue output tray, offering users better visibility so they can quickly and easily locate their print job. The electronic sort function assists users printing a large number of copies by making paper collation more efficient.

Small office and home office users won’t have to spend time constantly refilling the DocuCentre S2010/S1810’s paper trays thanks to the maximum paper capacity of 850 sheets. Meanwhile, medium sized businesses can expand the DocuCentre S2420 up to 1,850 sheets and keep up with the demand of even the busiest workgroups.

Offering best in class reliability
Businesses want to focus on maximising productivity and business revenue, not spending time troubleshooting their device or calling in a technician to do so. That won’t be an issue with the DocuCentre S2010/S1810 and DocuCentre S2420; they are extremely durable, high quality and very reliable.

This unrivalled reliability is due to Fuji Xerox’s extensive testing and deliberate design. The devices can easily handle different paper types and moisture content and testing has ensured the print performance is stable even when the paper type varies.

The DocuCentre S2010/S1810 and DocuCentre S2420 will consistently deliver quality printing regardless of volume. With a first page out time of 19 seconds or less (DocuCentre S2420) and print speeds of up to 24 pages per minute for A4 and up to 12 pages per minute for A3 (DocuCentre S2420), users won’t be left waiting around.

Cost effective MFD with big business features
The DocuCentre S2010/S1810 and DocuCentre S2420 offer businesses a price-competitive multifunction solution packed with a host of features designed to make printing, copying and scanning easier. They include basic time saving features, such as auto paper selection and auto image rotation, through to more advanced scanning and user control features.

These multifunction devices save businesses both money and time because larger format print jobs will no longer need to be outsourced and can instead be handled in house.

The Multiple-Up feature allows users to save resources by copying two or four originals onto one sheet of paper with the “2 in 1” or “4 in 1” function. In addition, the duplex printing function – which also supports paper feeding from the Bypass Tray – reduces paper consumption and time spent refilling paper supplies.

With the DocuCentre S2010/S1810, users can scan monochrome documents up to A3 in size at a resolution of 600 dpi and have them delivered directly to their PC. The Automatic Document Feeder also performs high-speed scans of multi-page documents at a rate of 18 sheets per minute. The DocuCentre S2420 achieves the same speeds but also introduces colour scanning capabilities.

Built in Network ready allows users to not only connect the multifunction devices to individual PCs in an office via USB connection, but also via LAN connection.

The DocuCentre S2420 allow businesses to send faxes from their PC, saving time and paper. They also support network scanning, which allows users to scan documents and send them directly to an email address. Businesses with a Fuji Xerox Full Service Maintenance Agreement can easily track multifunction usage on these devices via the total, copy, fax and large size counters.

Businesses can control access to the DocuCentre S2010/S1810 via the Auditron feature. This feature denies access to unauthorised users and also tracks the total number of copies produced from each account.  If desired, System Administrators can set a printing limit per user to assist in managing costs and print volume.

Efficient, high quality printing with low total cost of ownership
All of the new devices aim to reduce running costs while maintaining the features that deliver the high quality and efficiency businesses need.

The DocuCentre S2010/S1810 and DocuCentre S2420 collect unused toner and recycle it, saving on waste and time spent emptying the waste toner bottle. In addition, toner consumption can be easily reduced by selecting Toner Saver Mode, and all devices are compliant with the International Energy Star Program standard.

With cost savings as well as the environment in mind, the DocuCentre S2010 and S1810 use EA-Eco toner. This toner fuses to the page at temperatures up to 20 degrees Celsius lower than competitive models. This provides great energy-saving performance and up to 20 per cent reduction in power consumption during production. Not only does the toner save businesses money through energy efficiency, it delivers fine, uniform and smoothly-shaped particles that produce detailed and beautiful, high-quality prints.

These machines are also equipped with features designed to reduce the cost of consumables and replacement parts. This includes the DocuCentre S2010/S1810’s long life drum cartridge, which requires replacing less often thereby reducing costs and increasing productivity and user satisfaction.

Price list:
DocuCentre S1810: RM5299
DocuCentre S2010: RM5599
DocuCentre S2420: RM6999

45 years of improving work processes and realizing greener workspace in Malaysia

Fuji Xerox Malaysia, formerly known as Rank Xerox, was first established in 1966 and was first known for its first ever plain paper copier in the Malaysian market. Ever since then, Fuji Xerox has made big strides in developing various products in order to enhance the office efficiency and maximize profitability by simplifying the document management and work process.
Mr Kohei Sakomoto, Deputy General Manager of Marketing, Fuji Xerox Malaysia

“Keeping pace with economy transition, we have transformed our offerings and technology from analog to digital, black and white to color, from single function copier to multifunction device, purely hardware to a comprehensive solution of hardware, software and services. Today, Fuji Xerox Malaysia is the leader of color multifunction devices, document management solutions, production printing services, and end-to-end management of document processes,” said Masahiko Saito, President of Fuji Xerox Malaysia.Mr. Thevendran Sivanantham_General Manager of Business Operations and FXGS_Fuji Xerox Malaysia

Throughout 45 years, Fuji Xerox Malaysia has been pursuing a path of sustainability in all facets of its operations and their longstanding commitment to environmentally responsible design spans more than three decades on a global scale. For example, in efforts to contribute to global warming mitigation, Fuji Xerox Japan has set its greenhouse gas reduction target by 30% by year 2020 and launched company-wide efforts involving both domestic and overseas affiliates. With this, Fuji Xerox Malaysia is also committed to achieve 5% or more of absolute annual CO2 emission reduction in its premises from FY2011 to FY2016. 1% of CO2 reduction is equivalent to 26,900 kWh per year. It is estimated that average annual electricity consumption per household in Malaysia is about 2200 kWh per year. Thus, with commitment of 5% CO2 emission reduction, Fuji Xerox should be able to contribute to the supply of electricity to more than 60 households in 5 years.

Today, the name "FUJI XEROX" is a global brand synonymous with leadership in document services and technologies, attributed to cutting edge document solutions that consistently meet customers’ demands and expectations. With DocuWorld 2011 taking center stage in Malaysia this year, the nation can look back at 45 years of gaining higher productivity and maintaining environmental sustainability within business processes.

The new series combines cost efficiency, enhanced network security and environmental benefits with copy and print speeds of 35 / 45 / 55 pages per minute (ppm) respectively to help increase office worker productivity.(L to R)Mr. Masahiko Saito Mr. Kohei Sakomoto during launch gambit

The highly modular ApeosPort-IV 5070 series give today’s fast-paced office environments a critical productivity advantage. Daily tasks become more efficient, while intensive workplace processes are optimised with customisable workflow solutions to suit unique business requirements.

Mr. Masahiko Saito, President of Fuji Xerox Malaysia said “Fuji Xerox has consistently put in a strong commitment towards environmental conservation through the implementation of green strategies in its customer offerings. The Monochrome MFDs launched today is not only a continuation of Fuji Xerox’s dedication in adopting a greener approach with printing innovation, it can also be regarded as the company’s most dynamic solution offering the best in green technology to date.”
ApeosPort-IV 5070 / 4070 / 3070 and DocuCentre-IV 5070 / 4070 expand on the technologies of a standard monochrome MFD with optimised office efficiency and enhanced environmental features including:
• Top energy-saving performance in its class with lower Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) compared to former MFDs.
• Monochrome and color scan speed up to 70 images per minute (A4 long-edge feed, simplex).
• USB memory slot (Scan to USB and direct printing from USB) can be utilized on the user interface.
• Realizing further energy saving by using light-emitting diodes (LED) as light source for a scanning unit and a liquid crystal control panel.

Smart Energy Management Technology
The new series is equipped with the new ‘Smart Energy Management Technology’, which enables power to be distributed to areas for actual utilization when a device recovers from the energy-saving mode. With optimized control of recovery in just two seconds, the technology allows users to reduce power consumption without compromising convenience as well as reduces start-up sound to keep office noise at its minimum.

High speed and powerful processor
The new ApeosPort-IV 5070 / 4070 / 3070 and DocuCentre-IV 5070 / 4070 deliver optimal scanning process with a high-speed of 70 ppm and the option to compress the scanned data, and digitalize it in various file formats depending on purposes. This significantly help in reducing print volume for circulars and distributions as these digital files can be stored on PCs or USB flash memories, or sent as email attachments.

The scanner uses an LED lamp to reduce power consumption by approximately 80 percent without having to compromise the image quality of scanned data both for color and monochrome.

The new series is also equipped with a powerful 1.2-gigahertz Freescale processor. This enables users to simultaneously perform multiple tasks more efficiently regardless of a scan job while another job prints or send a fax while making copies.

Security at every level
Security is an important factor and these new devices provide optimum security, delivering ease of use to offices that manage confidential documents. With Secure Print, print jobs are being held in the print queue until the user is authenticated, preventing unauthorised viewers from seeing documents. Image Overwrite compliments this security feature by clearing all trace of any document image data remaining on the hard drive after a print, copy, scan or fax job (when enabled).

Besides that, Fuji Xerox also launched another range of monochrome MFDs, the DocuCentre-IV 3065 / 3060 / 2060 today. These new models copy and print at speed of 35, 30 and 25 pages per minute respectively.

The centralization of trade processes will also see improvements in risk management and control as there is a dedicated unit to monitor and oversee risk mitigation initiatives.

“Fuji Xerox is proud to be given this opportunity to work with RHB in automating and reengineering their trade services processing workflow.
