Allied Telesis Unveils Low-Cost-High-Value Outdoor Wireless Routers


KUALA LUMPUR, 22 May 2008 – Allied Telesis, a global provider of secure IP/Ethernet access solutions and an industry leader in the deployment of IP Triple Play networks over copper and fiber access infrastructures, announced the launch of the AT-WR4500 series, the dual band outdoor wireless routers.

The AT-WR4500 series share the same software and features and differ only in the number of radio interfaces:

AT-WR4541a : 5GHz outdoor wireless CPE with 15dBi antenna
AT-WR4541b/g : 2.4GHz outdoor wireless CPE with 11dBi antenna
AT-WR4561 : Dual band single radio outdoor wireless base router
AT-WR4562 : Dual band dual radio outdoor wireless base router

Its flexibility, full set of routing protocols and the enhanced filtering capabilities make AT-WR4500 series the best choice for building simple and complex wireless and hybrid (wired-wireless) networks with a tight integration between the wired and wireless parts. The AT-WR454x model with embedded antenna can either be connected to an AT-WR4561 or AT-WR4562 base router to best suit as a wireless CPE. While the single radio AT-WR4561 model can be used as a hot spot or a wireless CPE, the dual radio AT-WR4562 model can be deployed as a backbone support to AT-WR4561 model as both wireless-only base router and hot spot or base station in a Point to Multipoint configuration.

Other features includes certified for HiperLAN bands operation in Europe with DFS and TPC, IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE powering, IP66 rated outdoor robust construction for operation under heavy weather and dust storms and professionally-designed model suitable for indoor installation intensify the sourcing of wireless routers to fit individual’s requirements.

The AT-WR4500 is designed to provide a complete wireless solution for wireless ISPs, enterprises and many other industries.
