Games Convention Asia 2008 wants you to network –Matchmaking is now online

LEIPZIG, Germany and SINGAPORE - August 27, 2008 – LMI Leipziger Messe International (LMI), the organizer of Games Convention Asia (GCA), today announced that it released a matchmaking tool on its website enabling attendees of GCA and exhibitors to pre-schedule appointments and meet one another. The tool automatically registers attendees when they sign-up in advance to attend the conference and business center, and offers an easy-to-use, simple and reliable solution for scheduling time during the show to network. The tool, which has been successfully used and praised by visitors of other conventions organized, is making its games conference debut at GCA. Matchmaking will be available from today for pre-registered attendees to begin scheduling their meetings via the GCA site at http://www.gc-asia.sg/ using the same login and password as for the visitor or attendee registration.

Games Convention Asia 2008, will be held September 18-20, 2008 at the Suntec International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Singapore. This year’s theme for the convention is “Inspire Yourself.” The inaugural edition last year drew more than 70,000 public visitors and this year’s event is expected to draw even more attendees from the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and North America.

“Networking is one of the most important parts of any great conference, and with our goal of growing international relationships within the interactive entertainment industry for the Asia Pacific Region, the creation of this matchmaking system was a priority for us,” said Jorg Zeissig, Managing Director, LMI Asia. “We want to facilitate the best possible experience and truly grow people’s networks in addition to the knowledge exchange at the conference. The matchmaking tool has the power to be a real business development catalyst.”

How the Matchmaking Tool Works
Pre-registered attendees are able to request individual meetings with exhibitors or anyone else pre-registered to attend the convention. Meeting requests are then confirmed by both sides in order to be scheduled and ensure the meeting has value for both parties. Shortly before the event, each participant will receive a personalized meeting schedule outlining his or her full calendar for the show. Meetings booked through the matchmaking tool will also be provided with space at the show so participants and exhibitors don’t have to search for a quiet, comfortable place to speak.
