CATCH THE FOOTBALL FEVER WITH SORAKAN EMOSI EURO ON HYPP.TV

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today launched its first ever Hypp.TV’s Sorakan Emosi interactive billboard at Bintang Walk, Kuala Lumpur.

The interactive billboard, which is the first in the country, is made available to football fans from June 6 - 29, 2008. Fans can now show their support and express opinions on the world’s second largest international football competition by sending in an SMS, which will appear on the billboard.

To participate, fans only need to type Euro A or Euro B (depending on the assigned teams) followed by their SMS messages and send to 39111. Each SMS costs 50 sen (excluding standard telco charges) and will be moderated before being flashed on the billboard. Some of the SMS guidelines are as follows:
1. All SMS sent must be Sorakan Emosi football related.
2. All SMS must not use inappropriate or vulgar words, which have racial, sex, religion or political implications.
3. The message must connote fun & excitement, not serious and demeaning.
4. TM reserves the right to reject any submission without prior notice.
5. TM reserves the right to change the SMS guidelines without prior notice

To commemorate the prestigious football event of the year, TM is also offering a series of iTalk European Superstars 2008 collector’s edition cards, which feature faces of the best footballers from Europe such as Thierry Henry, Dimitar Berbatov, Cesc Fabrigas, Miroslav Klose, Christiano Ronaldo and Fernando Torres.

Packet One Primes for WiMAX Rollout

Signs partnerships with Fiberail and AIMS for greater service reliability and a comprehensive network with local telecommunications operators.

Kuala Lumpur – 12 June 2008 - Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (P1), Malaysia’s WiMAX licensee holder and a subsidiary of Green Packet Berhad, is finalizing its upcoming WiMAX rollout by signing agreements with a network facility provider, Fiberail Sdn Bhd and AIMS Asia, a leading Internet transit provider.

P1’s CEO, Michael Lai, said “P1 aims to truly enhance the quality of digital lifestyle for our fellow Malaysians. By partnering with Fiberail and AIMS, we bring to people across Malaysia a faster, more reliable WiMAX experience and borderless communications – voice and data - at a fraction of the current fixed-line and mobile rates. Everything we do at P1 is evaluated through the question ‘Does this improve the way people currently live, learn and play in Malaysia’.

The tie-up with the telecommunications service provider, Fiberail, will enable P1 to accelerate its network deployment by utilizing Fiberail’s highly reliable, nationwide, fiber optic network, for its WiMAX backhaul. The agreement with Fiberail will provide greater flexibility in provisioning of scalable bandwidth for P1’s WiMAX rollout in-line with market demands. A fiber optic backhaul does not suffer from environmental interference problems, it offers large bandwith capacity and better SLAs as it does not require Line of Sight (LOS) to the access point, hence ensuring a superior WiMAX experience for the end users.

While the partnership with Fiberail contributes towards better and faster connectivity, the partnership with AIMS Asia and local telcos enhance P1’s ability to provide a better voice and data interconnect with all local and key international telecommunication providers. This will be realized through the Access Agreements signed with all local telcos and hosting of P1’s Internet upstream switch at AIMS’s datacenter.

Registered with MCMC, the Access Agreements with local telcos namely TM &TMNet, Maxis, Celcom, Digi and TimeDotCom; will enable P1’s Voice service users to dial numbers of other networks, allowing its subscribers to call across networks seamlessly.
