TIME dotCom Delivers 100Mbps Home Broadband

100Mbps Home Broadband Service, Fastest-Ever to Malaysian Homes
Powered by the Only 100% Pure Fibre Network to High-Rise Residential Homes
RM179 Per Month with Zero Entry Cost, No Rental Fees and No Equipment Deposits

Shah Alam, 4 September 2012 – TIME dotCom Bhd (“TIME” or “the Group”) today launched TIME Fibre 100Mbps Home Broadband, Malaysia’s fastest home broadband service with speeds up to 100Mbps, responding to customer demands for greater speed and reliability.

TIME’s package offers 100Mbps priced at RM179 per month, a combination that no other existing home broadband package comes close to. The maximum speed currently offered in Malaysia is just 30Mbps. TIME’s 100% fibre optic network reaches approximately 100,000 homes in the Klang Valley and Penang.

Exactly how fast is 100Mbps broadband? It’s up to 5 times faster than our competitors’ best offering to download movies, or share 100 high resolution photos on Facebook. Avid users of social networking sites will be able to upload YouTube videos in a matter of seconds.

“We’re going to blow everyone out of the water with this product," said Afzal Abdul Rahim, Chief Executive Officer of TIME dotCom Bhd. "At these speeds, we are offering home users a high-speed internet experience currently unmatched anywhere in Malaysia”.

TIME introduced fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) to the Malaysian market in early 2010, using state-of-the-art fibre optic technology. Today, TIME remains the only operator to deliver 100% fibre to customers’ premises in high-rise buildings. What’s more, the network will in future be upgradeable to support higher data rates, meeting the ever-increasing demands of a data-hungry market.

“Today, we are bringing Malaysia up to speed,” said Afzal. “We’re raising the bar for Malaysia’s Internet service – it puts us at least on par with – or better than – many developed countries around the world.”

TIME dotCom ON ROAD TO RECOVERY

Q109 Losses Down By 61.7%, Revenue Up 12.1%

SHAH ALAM, June 16 – TIME dotCom Berhad (TdC) financial results for the first quarter 2009 (Q109) shows that the telecommunications service provider is on the road to recovery as losses were narrowed and revenue improved.

TdC’s revenue for Q109 increase by 12.1% to RM74 million compared to RM66 million in the corresponding quarter last year (Q108). The company had also reduced its losses by some 61.7% or RM34.7 million in Q109 versus RM56 million in Q108.

According to Afzal Abdul Rahim, Chief Executive Officer of TdC, the higher revenue was attributed to the stronger data revenue offset by the reduction in voice revenue. The reduction in losses on the other hand was mainly due to lower depreciation and finance charges, offset by the loss on the disposal of the company’s shares in DiGi Berhad.

He went on to say that the challenge would be to sustain and even improved the company’s financials amidst expected stagnation in demand due to the challenging economic condition as well as increased competition from other industry players.

“While our financial result for the first quarter is positive and a morale booster to start the year, the turnaround of TdC is far from complete. We will continue to undertake corporate renewal exercises spanning operations, culture and training -- a process which may take 24 months,” said Afzal.

He added that the telecommunications service provider will continue to focus on its more lucrative operations with greater growth potential. This would be data service offering in the wholesale, enterprise and corporate market segments, which was the company’s biggest earnings contributor for Q109.

“The focus on data service offerings will allow us to optimize our existing infrastructure and take advantage of the many opportunities currently available in the market place.”

On its target audience, Afzal said that the company will focus on the small and medium enterprise market and push its products and services to corporations as well as the government.

TdC, which has been going through several cost cutting measures implemented since late last year, has seen its operating expenditure shrunk 27.1% from RM107.1 million in Q108 to RM78.1 million in Q109.

Some of the cost saving efforts includes reassessment of its capital expenditure, freeze of new hire and advertising and reviewing of contracts with several vendors in the area of networks and equipment maintenance.

The company according to Afzal is also looking at other cost cutting measures such as exploring the use of open source software for the company’s IT needs.

“We are committed to reducing our operating costs and strengthening the company from the core as improvement in our internal operations and a stronger TdC would see us attaining market share and return the company to profitability.

“Though to realise this, we have to re-build the organisation, tap the potential in the market place for our products and services and restore engineering pedigree – not an easy task, but achievable,” said Afzal.

TdC held its 12th Annual General Meeting today, chaired by its Chairman Dato’ Wan Muhamad Wan Ibrahim.

Packet One Primes for WiMAX Rollout

Signs partnerships with Fiberail and AIMS for greater service reliability and a comprehensive network with local telecommunications operators.
Kuala Lumpur – 12 June 2008 - Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (P1), Malaysia’s WiMAX licensee holder and a subsidiary of Green Packet Berhad, is finalizing its upcoming WiMAX rollout by signing agreements with a network facility provider, Fiberail Sdn Bhd and AIMS Asia, a leading Internet transit provider.

P1’s CEO, Michael Lai, said “P1 aims to truly enhance the quality of digital lifestyle for our fellow Malaysians. By partnering with Fiberail and AIMS, we bring to people across Malaysia a faster, more reliable WiMAX experience and borderless communications – voice and data - at a fraction of the current fixed-line and mobile rates. Everything we do at P1 is evaluated through the question ‘Does this improve the way people currently live, learn and play in Malaysia’.

The tie-up with the telecommunications service provider, Fiberail, will enable P1 to accelerate its network deployment by utilizing Fiberail’s highly reliable, nationwide, fiber optic network, for its WiMAX backhaul. The agreement with Fiberail will provide greater flexibility in provisioning of scalable bandwidth for P1’s WiMAX rollout in-line with market demands. A fiber optic backhaul does not suffer from environmental interference problems, it offers large bandwith capacity and better SLAs as it does not require Line of Sight (LOS) to the access point, hence ensuring a superior WiMAX experience for the end users.

While the partnership with Fiberail contributes towards better and faster connectivity, the partnership with AIMS Asia and local telcos enhance P1’s ability to provide a better voice and data interconnect with all local and key international telecommunication providers. This will be realized through the Access Agreements signed with all local telcos and hosting of P1’s Internet upstream switch at AIMS’s datacenter.

AIMS Asia Group CEO, Afzal Abdul Rahim, said “We are extremely pleased to be a key partner of Packet One in rolling out one of the most comprehensive WiMAX networks in Malaysia and wider. Our capabilities as an Internet transit provider will enable P1 to enjoy world-class facilities putting the company on par with our other Tier 1 upstream service providing customers, such as PCCW, HGC, and Pacnet. Our fully fault-tolerant and redundant systems will allow P1 to maximize their service uptime and facilitate easier and more efficient service management”. Under this agreement, P1 will lease Internet upstream bandwidth from AIMS for international traffic and port connection to Malaysian Internet Exchange (MyIX) for local Internet traffic, he added.

Registered with MCMC, the Access Agreements with local telcos namely TM &TMNet, Maxis, Celcom, Digi and TimeDotCom; will enable P1’s Voice service users to dial numbers of other networks, allowing its subscribers to call across networks seamlessly.

The service called Netlynx, is offered in collaboration with Palette Multimedia Berhad and piloted in the up-market Damansara Perdana area in Selangor.

TIME dotCom and Palette Multimedia are what I call revolutionary players for the industry.
