WIN LUCRATIVE PRIZES AND DO YOUR BIT FOR CHARITY AT NIKON’S CHARITY PHOTO HUNT!

7 January 2014, Kuala Lumpur – Calling all shutterbugs and photography enthusiasts! Nikon (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. will be organising a Charity Photo Hunt on March 2, 2014 at Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur, starting at 8.00am.

The Charity Photo Hunt is similar to a treasure hunt, except that participants will have to snap photos of their answers.

In addition to vying for lucrative prizes from Nikon, participants can also do their bit for charity by registering for the event, and raise funds to help the Siddharthan Care Centre, an orphanage home based in Petaling Jaya.

“The Charity Photo Hunt is a great opportunity for us to invite the Malaysian public to come together for a good cause, while having a great time. This event is not only an ideal opportunity to bring together shutterbugs and photography enthusiasts for a day of fun and excitement, but also a chance for photography to play a bigger role in improving the quality of people’s lives.

We are pleased that this event will give Nikon an opportunity to contribute towards the maintenance and refurbishment of the Siddharthan Care Centre, and we hope to see tremendous support and participation from the Malaysian public as well,” said David Ng, General Manager of Consumer Products Marketing.

Priced at RM80 per participant, Nikon will be channelling 100% of the total participation fees to the Siddharthan Care Centre, which provides vocational training, special education, shelter, food and medical needs for children who are orphaned, abandoned, drug-addicted or from poor and abusive families, between the ages of 3 to 18 years old.

According to Mr. S.K.Manimaran, the founder of the Siddharthan Care Centre, the funds will be used to expand and re-equip the care centre’s facilities and its surroundings, which will cost about RM50,000. A further RM68,000 is required to clear the debts and payments, in order to keep the centre afloat.

“We hope to renovate the balcony into another room to increase the comfort of our children. Currently, about 35 people occupy two master bedrooms. We would also like to purchase two computers for the centre, to increase the knowledge of our children and minimise the technology gap,” he added.

Nikon’s Charity Photo Hunt offers several exciting and lucrative prizes up for grabs, including the D7100 kit with AF-S 18-105mm (Grand Prize) and D5300 kit AF-S DX VR18-55mm (Second Prize). There are also other Nikon 1, Coolpix compact cameras and Nikon binoculars to be won.

All participants will receive a goody bag which will include a Nikon t-shirt and other premium gifts from Nikon and its event partners.

Participants will be judged based on correctness of the answers as well as the aesthetic quality of each of their submitted photos. Participants have three hours to complete the questions and the answers can be found within the vicinity of the Golden Triangle. Judging and announcement of winners will be done on the event day.
